We are pleased to announce that Brooke’s Toy Closet has expanded to our hospital, joining existing locations at TidalHealth Peninsula Regional in Salisbury and TidalHealth Nanticoke in Seaford.

What started with one little girl’s wish has grown into a system-wide initiative, ensuring that children across our hospitals receive a new toy to keep during their stay.

Brooke Mulford’s dream continues to make a difference, and we are grateful to partner with her mom, Amy, and the TidalHealth Foundation to carry it forward.

"Hi I am Brittany Marvel! I have been with AGH for 5 years now. My current role is ICU Charge Nurse. Though I started here working nightshift on MedSurg, I discovered my passion for critical care after being floated to the ICU to help one evening.

My favorite part of being a nurse is building trust with my patients and their family members. I love knowing that I have made someone’s life a little better even when they’re going through a difficult time. It’s not always about medicine, as much as it is about compassion.

I am proud to work at AGH because of how tight-knit this hospital is. The culture here is incredibly supportive and you really feel part of the team. This applies not only to patient care – we always come together for one another in tough times. I am also proud to be a part of the ICU department, which has received several Daisy awards for teamwork, compassion, and patient advocacy.

One of my goals is to obtain my CCRN (Critical care registered nurse certification) and to continue growing as a resource for new nurses in our unit. I plan to stay with AGH and continue to strengthen my skills in the ICU. The hospitals commitment to excellence and teamwork make it the ideal place to grow long-term.

anyone considering a career in nursing – always remember that nursing is just as much about your presence as it is about procedures. Your calm voice, listening ear, and compassion can be just as healing as any medicine you will give. Never underestimate the power of simply being there for your patient when they need it the most."

"Hi, I am Chuck Gizara. I have been part of the Atlantic General Hospital team for 22 years and currently serve as the Director of Integrated Care Management. In this role, I oversee inpatient case management, High Risk Transitions of Care Program, remote patient monitoring, outpatient care coordination, therapy services, and our outpatient wound care center.

Nursing is my second career, and it has provided me with the opportunity to advance my education, grow professionally, mentor others, and cultivate meaningful relationships. I am proud to work at AGH, where professional development and collaboration are encouraged.

My advice to future nurses is to seek new opportunities, continue your education, obtain specialty certifications, and be willing to step outside of your comfort zone.

Looking forward, my priorities include supporting a smooth transition in our affiliation with TidalHealth, implementing the new EPIC EMR, and advancing community-based Population Health and Care Management initiatives throughout the region. I am excited to be partnering with the TidalHealth team to reach these goals for our community!"
