This Black History Month, it’s important to reflect on the full scope of the civil rights movement—including the voices that have too often been left out. Disability is frequently missing from these narratives, yet Black disabled leaders have played a vital role in shaping movements for justice, equity, and access. Their lived experiences reveal the strength, innovation, and leadership that emerge at the intersection of race and disability.
