Offering independent living, skilled nursing and therapy services, long-term care, and a secure neighborhood for Alzheimer's/Dementia individuals. Meadow View Nursing Center is a not-for-profit skilled nursing facility located in the heart of the beautiful Laurel Highlands. Meadow View is a 150 bed licensed facility which brings together rehabilitation, nursing care and specialty medical services to meet the needs of older adults in Somerset County and the surrounding areas.

June is Uterine Cancer Awareness Month and we wanted to collect some facts and statistics to share this month.

Facts & Statistics
● Each year, more than 420,000 people will be diagnosed with uterine cancer worldwide. The number of cases is expected to increase 50% by 2044.
● Uterine cancer is the most common gynecologic cancer in North America, Europe, and Australis, making up nearly 50% of all gynecologic cancer cases in high income countries.

Warning signs
● Major warning signs include any vaginal bleeding after menopause, unusual spotting, heavy menstrual flow, or abdominal pelvic pain.

Risk factors
● Key factors include obesity, hormonal imbalances, (high estrogen) never having given birth, early menstruation, late menopause, and genetic predisposition like Lynch syndrome.

Day 5 of Nursing Home Week was all about comfort food and comfy clothes! 🌭🛋️💤

Staff and residents enjoyed a delicious Hotdog Bar while everyone relaxed in their favorite pajamas and lounge wear. From cozy blankets and slippers to fun pajama sets, the day was filled with comfort, laughter, and great memories together!

Meet Stacey Rosenberger, one of our amazing Activities Aides here at Meadow View! Stacey has been part of the Meadow View family for 1 year and 3 months. 💛

Her favorite part about Meadow View is the friendships she has built with her coworkers and the time she gets to spend with the residents each day.

Day 4 of Nursing Home Week was full of laughs, fun, and PIE! 🥧🎩

Staff and residents showed off their favorite hats and silly styles while enjoying some delicious pie together. From goofy hats to sweet treats, the day was filled with smiles and lots of fun memories!

Thank you to everyone who participated and helped make Nursing Home Week so special. We love seeing all the creativity, laughter, and team spirit throughout the week! ❤️
