Our Story

I am a native Bernardsville resident with my mother's side of the family living in this town for the past 7 generations. Following my father's footsteps, I started my optician apprenticehood at Lenscrafters at the age of 20. I completed my apprenticeship at my family owned store, Gerald A. York Optician, and received my optician license through Raritan Valley Community College. After my father retired and sold the business to me in 2012, I made it my purpose to continue to uphold the excellence that Gerald A York Opticians is known for and with my team, we look forward to serving the community for another 35 years.

Since 1977, my family has provided the surrounding communities with quality eyewear an unparalleled personalized service. We also offer comprehensive eye exams and contact lens exams by an independent doctor of Optometry. It is paramount for me to carry the latest in eyewear designs and cutting-edge lens technology. In our quaint historical boutique in downtown Basking Ridge you will find a wide variety of eyewear collections including, Swiss Flex, Silhouette, Prada, Oliver Peoples, Coach, Lafont, Flexon and many children's lines too. You will also find premium sunwear and sports specific eyewear for children and adults. We pride ourselves on serving your family's eyecare needs.
