Acupuncture & Digestive Disorders

Living with digestive disorders, to include Crohn’s disease can feel like a constant battle.

Individualized Treatment
Every individual is different, and so is the path to healing. We create a plan that targets your specific digestive challenges, including Crohn’s, IBS, SIBO, and chronic bloating. Using acupuncture and herbal medicine to support digestion, reduce pain, and restore balance.

Science-Backed Care
We use advanced tools like the GI-MAP stool test to uncover hidden gut infections, imbalances, and inflammation. Combined with evidence-based acupuncture, this approach regulates gut motility, reduces inflammation, and supports a healthier microbiome.

Relief & Relaxation
Acupuncture not only improves digestive function but also calms the gut-brain connection, reduces stress, and supports long-term wellness. Acupuncture can help by reducing inflammation, regulating pain, and promoting deep relaxation. ✨

Chronic conditions affect everyone differently, but no matter your symptoms, you’re not alone. At Central Texas Acupuncture & Wellness Center, we’re here to listen, support you, and create a plan that fits your unique health journey.

🌟 What Does the GI MAP Test For? 🌟

Your gut holds the key to your overall health. The GI MAP is a simple stool test that can reveal:

✔️ Good, bad, and neutral bacteria levels
✔️ H. pylori
✔️ Digestive enzyme function
✔️ Immune markers (immunoglobulins)
✔️ Viruses like Epstein-Barr
✔️ Candida and other yeast
✔️ Parasites
✔️ Calprotectin for IBD/IBS

This test gives a clear, detailed picture of what’s happening inside your gut so we can create a personalized plan to restore balance and improve digestion, immunity, and energy.

At Central Texas Acupuncture & Wellness Center, we combine your GI MAP results with acupuncture and targeted herbal medicine to calm inflammation, improve digestion, and support long-term gut health. We’ve helped many patients reduce bloating, improve regularity, and feel like themselves again. 🌿✨

“All disease begins in the gut.” – Hippocrates

“When the Spleen and Stomach are in harmony, the hundred diseases cannot arise.” – Li Dong-Yuan, Pi Wei Lun

Both ancient and modern medicine agree that the gut is central to health. At our clinic, we blend the wisdom of TCM which teaches that chronic illness often begins with weak digestion, with today’s science-based GI Mapping technology to uncover what’s really going on inside your digestive system.

Your gut health is the foundation of your entire well-being. When digestion is off, everything can feel off, from your energy levels to your mood.

Who might benefit from GI Mapping?
✅ Anyone with autoimmune conditions, unexplained fatigue, or frequent illness.

✅ People struggling with chronic GI symptoms such as IBD, IBS, diarrhea, or constipation.

✅ Those experiencing depression, anxiety, ADHD, or brain fog.

How it works:
1️⃣ Call our office at 512-256-4811 & schedule an appointment.
2️⃣ Have a telehealth visit or in-person clinic visit to discuss your situation and get the test ordered for you.
3️⃣ Your test arrives at your door. Simply send in your sample. Once results are in, we’ll meet virtually to review them and design a personalized healing plan.

Your gut may be holding the key to feeling better. Let’s find the root cause and restore balance. 🌱

🌿 Stroke vs Bell’s Palsy: Understanding Treatment

Both conditions can cause sudden facial drooping, but they are not treated the same way.

Stroke
⚡ Emergency medical care is the priority: restoring blood flow to the brain as quickly as possible saves brain cells and function.
⚡ Hospital treatment may include clot-busting medications, surgery, and monitoring.
⚡ Recovery focuses on rehab: physical therapy, occupational therapy, and speech therapy.
⚡ Acupuncture is often added in recovery to improve motor function, reduce spasticity, support balance, and speed nerve healing.

Bell’s Palsy
🌿 Not life-threatening, but still important to treat early.
🌿 Conventional care often includes corticosteroids or antivirals to reduce nerve inflammation.
🌿 Acupuncture can begin right away to reduce swelling of the facial nerve, improve circulation to the face, and stimulate nerve repair.
🌿 Treatments focus on restoring facial strength, movement, and comfort from closing the eye to smiling again.

What they share: Both conditions benefit from therapies that help the nervous system relearn movement and improve circulation.

Where they differ: Stroke is a brain injury that requires emergency intervention. Bell’s Palsy is a peripheral nerve problem, where early acupuncture makes a direct impact on recovery.

✨ Healing looks different for each person, but with the right support the body has a remarkable ability to restore function.

🌿 At Central Texas Acupuncture & Wellness Center we address more than just symptoms. We focus on restoring health and function.

Common conditions we support include:
✔️ Back and neck pain
✔️ Shoulder and knee injuries
