The former registration area is being renovated to make room for a new MRI machine, helping us modernize and streamline care. Need help finding your way? Guest Services is available in the lobby.

Sniffing out safety! 🐾

Five years ago, we welcomed our K‑9 security team as an extra layer of safety for our patients, staff and community. And let’s be honest — they’re much more than cute faces and wagging tails. These pups are specially trained security pros, skilled in areas like explosive detection and assisting our officers every day.

Thanks to the support of the Geisinger Health Foundation, our K‑9 partners Aria and Jäger continue to work alongside our security team to help keep our hospital environments safe across northeastern and central Pennsylvania.

Today we were proud to celebrate one of Scranton’s most cherished traditions at the St. Patrick’s Parade.

Geisinger employees and their families joined thousands of residents and visitors lining the streets of the Electric City. Many of the clinicians, students, volunteers and staff walking in the parade call northeastern Pennsylvania home and are honored to care for the same community they live in.

Thank you to everyone who came out to celebrate today. We are proud to be part of the Scranton community.

Expect delays traveling to Geisinger South Wilkes-Barre 🚧 🚦

Water line construction will last throughout the spring and regularly affect traffic patterns around the hospital.

Expect frequent block closures and single-lane traffic on Hanover Street and Horton Street, which will affect how patients and visitors reach hospital entrances on Roosevelt Terrace and Church Street.

Geisinger South Wilkes-Barre will remain open regardless of traffic changes.

We encourage all who are traveling to the hospital to expect delays and account for them in their travel plans.

Construction flaggers are onsite where traffic patterns are interrupted and will help patients and employees traveling to the hospital reach their destination.

Geisinger Lewistown Hospital hosted a Heart Health Saturday event featuring free screenings, heart‑healthy education and valuable resources. The hospital also celebrated its designation as an AHA Comprehensive Hypertension Center, joining an elite group of 50 nationwide.
Grateful for the teams who made it happen!
