Good morning, Susquehanna Valley! Can anyone tell us where 2025 went?! It could be the speeding of time as the aging process plays out, but we are hearing this question a lot. With all the daily stressors we are all experiencing, it's no wonder.
This leads me to another common question we hear. How should I approach a New Year's resolution? Those resolutions can and indeed should help reduce stress. It could be less screen time, or more whole foods and greens in your diet. Both great ideas.
Maybe it's more in the dreaded exercise realm. Well, if you, like many others, are aiming to be more active, we encourage you to have your annual physical completed to get a baseline of your health (free with most insurance plans). Second, we encourage you to start off small. You've likely heard the old adage of having to crawl before you walk, and walk before you run. It's not only true of infants. Give yourself the best chances of succeeding. Start with one extra flight of stairs above your regular routine, or one walk around your block. As that becomes the new norm, you can add to it. Remember, life should be a marathon, not a sprint! If the walks and roads are icy, walking around your home repeatedly can be a good starting point. If stretching to become more limber is your goal, again, start small and slow to avoid injury.
If you're trying to get away from the all-too-common gaslighting from your current healthcare provider, please give us a call. We would love to help.
