It is the pagan Goddess Brigid, catholic St Brigid’s eve. My mother’s middle name is after her. It is Imbolc eve. The new wheel of the year begins tomorrow and Brigid harkens in spring— it’s here, new life, in the belly of the sheep, new beginnings. It’s tradition to put a ribbon, sweater or cloth of yours outside to be blessed by Brigid this night.
