Sue Jenkins – Bethel Park Week 1 Leading With Heart Recipient
When the "Leading with Heart" initiative launched, Sue Jenkins was the first person who came to mind. She consistently demonstrates compassionate and empathetic care toward our patients and residents.
With 31 years of experience in the healthcare field, Sue has spent the last 8 years enriching the lives of those at the Bethel Park Activities Department. She embodies what it means to "Lead with Heart," as her passion, kindness, and dedication shine through in everything she does for residents and their families. Sue's commitment to caregiving stems from her personal experience of caring for her autistic son, Ritchie, whom she absolutely adores. Her advocacy extends beyond her own family; she is a constant advocate for the residents, often offering valuable insights to ensure they are more comfortable and cared for.
The joy Sue brings to our facility is immeasurable. Her energy and ability to make people smile is unmatched. Patients light up when they see her, especially when she’s singing and dancing in the halls. Sue's compassion is evident in every interaction, and working with her is a reminder of why we are all here – to care for people.
When asked about the most fulfilling part of her job, Sue said, "Seeing the patients, residents, and families smile, knowing I helped make that happen, makes everything worthwhile. This is something I truly love to do."
Sue also shared her thoughts on working at Genesis: "I love what I’m able to do here, and working alongside the incredible staff at Bethel Park Skilled Nursing and Rehabilitation Center is the icing on the cake for me!"
Congratulations, Sue, on being our Week 1 "Leading with Heart" recipient. Your passion and dedication make a difference every single day.
