New Year’s celebrations can be exciting, but for neurodivergent kids, it can feel overwhelming. However, a little planning can go a long way toward a calmer, more comfortable night for everyone.
🌟 Prep them for what to expect – share the plan and walk through anything that may be unfamiliar.
🌟 Create a quiet zone – a cozy space with low lighting and soundproof headphones can provide a sensory break.
🌟 Modify the celebration – it’s okay if your celebration looks different; your child being comfortable is what is important.
