We met 10 years ago when our little girls became fast friends while playing outside on a random Saturday afternoon. Those girls are now young ladies and our bond continues to remain strong.

Life gets busy and it’s so easy to lose touch with dear friends.

It is important to remember that the power of connection and relationships are medicine. 🌱

Buying all the treats at the movies is always so tempting….popcorn, candy, chocolate, drinks, etc. 🍫🍭🍪🍿🥤All of the tasty things that seem to add to the excitement of the movie experience.

I prefer to bring my own healthy snacks and beverages to avoid the sugar trap.

Halloween 🎃 is always so much fun but at the end of the night we have the dilemma of how to manage ALL of the candy. 🤦🏽‍♀️

We allow the kids to have a few pieces and trash a few pieces with exceptionally poor ingredients.

Then we follow the Switch Witch 🧙 tradition where the girls trade in the bulk of their candy for a toy or clothing. 😉

Did you know that a significant percentage of cancers could be avoided by maintaining a healthy lifestyle? YES!

Maintaining a healthy diet works to avoid obesity, chronic inflammation, high blood sugar, a poorly functioning immune system, and an unhealthy microbiome - These factors INCREASE cancer risk and other chronic health conditions.

Time Magazine recently published an article, "6 Things to Eat to Reduce Your Cancer Risk" https://time.com/7081386/foods-to-reduce-cancer-risk/

Here are a few great tips that are highlighted:

-Avoid Alcohol and Soda
-Replace processed snacks with nuts, i.e. walnuts, almonds
-Include a wide variety of vegetables in your diet. The more color the better!
-Maintain a high fiber diet. Links have been made between high-fiber intake and longer survival for cancer patients.

Ever get tired of the same old salad dressing??? I got in a rut with mixing extra virgin olive oil with balsamic vinegar everyday…so blah after a while. 🤦🏽‍♀️

Decided to jazz things up with a cilantro dressing! Simple recipe that only takes a few minutes to prepare.

Just blend the following:
-cilantro bunch
-3-4 garlic cloves
-lime juice
-1/2 cup coconut yogurt OR Greek yogurt
-1/3 cup extra virgin olive oil
-salt, pepper (cumin optional)

✅ Cilantro is a source of vitamins and minerals, ie Vitamin C, folate, manganese, potassium, beta-carotene. Supports liver detoxification, immune function, and supports blood sugar health.
✅ Extra virgin olive oil is a rich source of antioxidants, provides anti-inflammatory effects, and is great for brain health. 🧠
✅ Garlic provides antioxidants support, exhibits antimicrobial effects, and supports cardiovascular health, i.e. blood pressure, cholesterol.
