Today our groups focused on talents. The girls work on building confidence while also practicing active listening and social skills. It’s always a special lesson! Today we saw artwork, gymnastics, horseback riding, rock collection, violin, piano, jump rope and more!

Today’s lesson focused on managing worried feelings. We practiced the Breathing Buddies strategy. Have your child lie down and put a small stuffed animal on top of their belly to use in focusing on slow inhaling and exhaling.

Fall Groups for Strong Voices began this week! Our girls got creative with their folder designs! We look forward to a great Fall session!

We had a great closing ceremony for our Strong Voices Empowerment Summer Groups! We focused on receiving and giving compliments and feedback about what we admire about each other! Stay tuned for Fall groups!

Strong voices Talent show! In addition to showcasing their incredible talents helping with confidence, we try to help reinforce active listening and social skills for the girls during the talent show! The girls need to write down their favorite parts as well as write and ask follow up questions. All around important skills for friendships!

Visualized and designed our “happy and calm places” to use when feeling stressed or dealing with fears. These included beaches, gardens, and even candyland 🙂 !

This week Strong voices girls used their creativity to create their own businesses! This activity helps with leadership and confidence building. They came up with the best ideas! Stuffed Animal Land, Book Universe, Fashion Designs and more!

The Strong Voices Team is here for you during these uncertain and scary times. We understand the importance of stress management in terms of learning and using appropriate coping skills in this time of need! The team is considering offering one free "Zoom" class for girls in Grades 3-5 (but would consider other grades as well) This class would of course offer some needed "virtual" socialization as well as a step by step lesson on an effective and engaging stress management tool!
