Investing in Community Health Centers (CHCs) is investing in America’s primary care.

CHCs provide care to up to 52 million people at more than 17,000 sites nationwide—serving communities where access is most limited. They are on the frontlines of preventing, managing, and treating chronic disease, ensuring patients get the care they need close to home.

CHCs remain the backbone of primary care in communities with the fewest alternatives. Keeping that care available is essential for our healthcare system to work.

As Community Health Centers (CHCs) mark 60 years of saving lives and dollars, they need your help. Federal funding that keeps CHCs open expires September 30. Without action from Congress, patient access is at risk.

🩺CHCs now care for more patients than ever before, serving nearly 34 million people across 17,000 locations nationwide. They include:

✅ Over 10 million rural residents (at least 1 in 5),
✅ More than 20 million people who live in poverty (at least 1 in 3), and
✅ More than 6 million (at least 1 in 5) uninsured people.

CHCs serve at least 1 in 10 Americans and up to 1 in 7, yet account for only 1% of total U.S. healthcare spending, saving Medicaid and Medicare billions of dollars annually by reducing costly emergency, inpatient, and specialty care.

America needs Community Health Centers. Together, we must ensure that every Community Health Center can continue delivering comprehensive, affordable care that saves lives.
