Today on Capitol Hill, NACHC CEO Dr. Kyu Rhee spent the day meeting with bipartisan members of Congress to advocate for Community Health Centers and the patients they serve.

Throughout the day, conversations focused on the importance of sustained federal investment and policies that strengthen access to high-quality, affordable care in communities across the country.

We’re grateful for the continued engagement and partnership from leaders in Congress and we’ll keep pushing forward to ensure Community Health Centers remain strong for the 52 million and growing patients who rely on them.

A moment from today’s House Ways and Means Committee Budget Hearing with U.S. Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) Secretary Robert F. Kennedy 👏

We thank Congressman Danny K. Davis for raising an important question about the burden new 340B rebate models and reporting requirements place on Community Health Centers—organizations that have long been strong, responsible stewards of the program.

We also appreciate Secretary Robert F. Kennedy Jr. for reaffirming his commitment to supporting Community Health Centers and recognizing the critical role they play in delivering high-quality care for communities across the country.

➡️ ACT NOW AHEAD OF THE APRIL 16 DEADLINE! https://bit.ly/CHCFY27AppropsSenate

Send a letter urging your senators to sign on to the Community Health Center (CHC) Funding FY27 Appropriations letter before the upcoming deadline.

As of today, 47 senators have signed the letter. We are 78% to this year's goal of 60 senators!

The more members who sign, the stronger our message to Congressional leadership about the urgent need to support CHCs and the 52 million patients we serve.

We need your help to reach our goal.

NACHC was proud to co-host the LEAD Kick-Off event yesterday at the National Press Club, bringing together leaders from across the health care landscape, including Community Health Centers (CHCs).

CMS Administrator Dr. Mehmet Oz and CMS Innovation Center Director Abe Sutton shared insights on CMS’s newest accountable care model in a panel moderated by NACHC CEO Kyu Rhee, MD, MPP. Amy Halstead, CEO of Rural Health Center in Monroe County, Florida, also shared how the LEAD program presents opportunities for CHCs.

With standing-room-only attendance, this conversation highlighted CMS’s commitment to expanding value-based payment models. LEAD’s 10-year model is designed to provide long-term stability and empower providers, especially those historically less engaged, to invest in sustainable, high-quality care.

NACHC applauds the Health Resources and Services Administration (HRSA) announcement of more than $135 million to expand nutrition services and strengthen the rural health workforce. This investment recognizes what Community Health Centers have demonstrated for decades: nutrition services are essential to whole-person care in the communities that face the greatest barriers to health.

Community Health Centers are leading the way in delivering whole-person care, and that includes integrating oral health into primary care.

As health care costs rise, this integration isn’t just innovative; it’s practical, efficient, and improves outcomes for patients.

As NACHC Chief Health Officer Dr. Luis Padilla explains in MedCity News:
“That affords the opportunity to integrate a little bit more those dental health services and primary care services.”

Community Health Centers are already putting this into action—connecting care teams, improving chronic disease management, and expanding access in the communities that need it most.

Public health is more than health care—it’s about reaching beyond the exam room to address the non-clinical factors that shape health.

For more than 60 years, Community Health Centers (CHCs) have led this work, caring for the whole person through primary care, pharmacy, oral health, behavioral health, and enabling services, while also helping communities navigate issues like safe food and clean water.

CHCs are on the frontlines, responding to our nation’s greatest public health challenges, emergencies and natural disasters.

This , we celebrate the heroes, innovators, problem solvers, and troubleshooters who power the CHC movement. 💙
