Visionary Bootcamp!!!! Whats Your Vision??
My vision was to create a gym where people would feel comfortable coming to exercise and work on becoming healthier, stronger, more confident, and overall happy. I wanted to create an environment where everyone was encouraging, kind, helpful, and motivating. We did that! Thats exactly what this gym was, with the help of all of you! We created lifelong friendships and lasting memories! Thank you from the bottom of my heart!

After telling all my members personally, Id like to share my news with all of you. I have received an offer on my gym building and have accepted, therefore closing the gym. This is an incredible business opportunity for me and my family and also allows me to travel to be with Ashlyn more in California and to not miss Hanleys Volleyball games, out of town tournaments,track meets, or other events in their lives which is extremely important to me. This decision is bittersweet and was not made easily. Closing the doors to this Community we have all built together for the past 3 years is extremely difficult. I have owned Visionary Bootcamp for 3 years, but have been programming/ coaching for 12 plus and some of my members have been with me since the very beginning. We have grown together in this gym and I will take away many great positive memories and lifelong friendships, I hope anyone who has been a part of VBC today or at some point are able to do the same. I am incredibly grateful to each of my members who allowed VBC to be a part of their fitness journey, they trusted my programming and the gym to be their Community to motivate and push them to be the best version of themselves . Our Community is special, its positive, we have the nicest,most helpful, inviting, genuine members and im so thankful for that and so so proud. I have watched all of them either overcome fears, accomplish goals, build friendships, and be proud of themselves for tackling a tough workout or completing a monthly/ nutritional challenge. How fortunate am I that I had this opportunity to meet/ coach all of them and experience all these moments along side of them. I love coaching, I love the challenge of programming everyday and I love seeing members gain strength and confidence physically and mentally. I have held fundraisers and events for people I care deeply about at this gym and have witnessed the Community come together for these to support each other in times of need. These times are all heartwarming and moments ill never forget.
Id like to personally thank my coaches for being encouraging , positive coaches, I always received wonderful feedback from our members about how helpful you all are. They have jobs and families, I appreciate the time they were able to give. Id like to thank my family for always being supportive, patient, and always believing I could do anything and now supporting this hard decision. Believing in the people you love and really hearing them through choices and new adventures is one of the best gifts you can give someone. Thank you!
I’d like to thank Adam for being the gym’s best maintenance man, floor cleaner, grounds keeper, snow plower etc but mostly for giving me his continuous support.
Members, please continue your fitness journey whether it be at a different gym, ( we are fortunate to have a lot of great choices in the Quad Cities ),your garage, basement, online, etc. If you ever need motivation or someone to help you during this transitional period, please reach out. I will always be a message away! Our last class is on Saturday, August 5th. I invite anyone who has ever worked out in this gym to come take part in our last day workout together. Great read!!

I have been reflecting this week about the fact that I have now officially been out of competing for longer than I was in it. I competed in CrossFit for 7 seasons - it’s been 8 years since I tore my ACL on the floor.

I am old. (40 😂)

I average 6 hours of really broken sleep.

I have had 3 babies in 6 years and breastfed all of them for 18 months.

I drink way too much coffee.

I do ONE workout x 5 days a week in my garage.

My stress levels (young kids and owning a growing biz) are far from ideal.

I am feeling more grateful than ever that I found and absorbed the messaging of before the explosion of the Games. That I understood completely the difference between the life changing program and the needs of the competitive athletes.

I am grateful that I fell in love with constantly varied, functional movements, executed at high intensity during a time where what mattered was MY performance improving - not that I was beating anyone else.

I am grateful I developed SIMPLE habits and learned how effective they could be BEFORE I started listening to podcasts like Huberman and Attia - that can sometimes make a person feel like they are completely failing at “health”.

You can’t optimize a habit that doesn’t exist.

Athletes aren’t a good model for what is necessary for you.

Consistency and intensity (whatever intensity you have for that day) are what most people are missing. Volume is unnecessary.

I still believe in eating meats and vegetables, nuts and seeds, some fruit, little starch, and no sugar. And that people WAY over complicate even that.

I just try to eat whole, unprocessed foods, avoid alcohol and sugar. Get enough protein. I am grateful to know that it really can be that simple.

I wish that everyone could hit a massive de-clutter from the noise of “what is necessary” - and remember to

DO LESS - BETTER.

May Challenge is to complete one mile a day by running, walking, or row! Any miles completed in your daily Wod does not count towards this challenge! We’d love to see the participation number high on this Challenge! To be eligible for the end of month prize you must complete the mile on each day. Advanced level is 2 miles a day! My advice, find an accountability partner to help you complete each day! Good luck!!!!

Visionary Bootcamp

Visionary Bootcamp is a combination of functional body weight, kettle bell, light barbell, and cardio movements performed at a moderate to high intensity. With over 8 years of experience in Bootcamp programming, I design each workout to positively challenge members and ensure they meet their individual health and fitness goals.
