We may be a day late, but our appreciation is right on time🩵

March is National Social Work Month — and yesterday, March 17, was National Social Work Day. Today, we’re taking a moment to recognize the incredible social workers who show up every day with compassion, resilience, and dedication.

To all the social workers in our community and beyond: THANK YOU for the difference you make every single day. Your work does not go unnoticed.

💡Did you know? Our Trauma Informed Care Systems Coordinator and Change Agent is a Licensed Social Worker! A huge shoutout to Lindsey Schneider, LISW, for all the great work she does with NAMI GMV🩵

💬Help us celebrate! Tag a social worker who has made an impact in your life.

🧠✨It’s the start of Brain Awarness Week (March 16-22, 2026)!

Your brain is your body’s command center — controlling your thoughts, emotions, memories, and how you experience the world. Taking care of your brain is just as important as taking care of your physical health.

💡Brain Fact: Your brain has about 86 billion neurons communicating through trillions of connections every second!

Let’s make this week about learning, supporting, and breaking the stigma around mental health.

❓Comment below one thing you do to make your brain happy:
Getting enough sleep?
Taking a walk outside?
Talking to someone you trust?
Practicing mindfulness?

Every small step matters. Here at NAMI GMV, we’re dedicated to helping our community support their mental health. Check our page to see some of the cool classes and support groups we have going on!

Together, we can build awareness, understanding, and hope.🩵
