Which are the 3 most common dead giveaways that a picture was touched up? 3) perfectly symmetric features of the face. 80-90% of faces are asymmetric so when you see perfect eyebrow height, perfectly symmetric cheek bones projection and symmetric jaw lines most likely the picture was touched up.
2) mismatched sharpness : most filters blur the skin but sharpen the eyes, lashes, brows and lips
1) dead giveaway :over-smoothing of skin texture
Look for: pores disappearing completely, plastic or velvety surface, no micro wrinkles in areas that should show them( crows feet, under eyes,forehead), uniform texture across cheeks, eyelids and nose: real skin always has regional variation, filters erase that.
Remember, unless the picture was taken in the early post op period when the swelling can cause tiny wrinkles to disappear, an non filtered picture should disclose some lines because facelift can not erased expression lines,period!

Is cost the only thing you need to worry about in the arduous process of picking a plastic surgeon? The 4 filters you should use which will help you make a decision.
The moral of the story is: do your home work, use the 4 filters in this order and ask yourself :given that I like their results and aesthetics, trust their safety and appreciate their ethics, is the incremental benefit worth the extra $50k-100k over another excellent plastic surgeon that does not have the PR team and the fake followers on social media?

I have been very vocal about having realistic expectations because it is the key of being satisfied after surgery. When media portrait unobtainable results as real like in this case, it sets a standard for regular people to go after. And that is bad for both plastic surgeons and patients. There is no question that whoever did her facelift, did an excellent job so why touch up the picture?
This post proves without any doubts what I have been saying for months.
Educating patients about surgery is the key of a plastic surgeon’s success and patient’s satisfaction!
