My dear Vesper,

Tomorrow is your birthday and you will be FIVE years old. Something about FIVE feels so big to me. And so while I’m so excited for you to be a big FIVE year old, I’m sitting here on your last night as a four year old looking through some old photos. and I are so proud of the girl you’re growing into. And you are the best big sister to Chase. You’re more and more like your mommy every day, which you’ll see is quite the compliment. As happy as I am, I can’t help to feel a little sad, too. Time is already going by so fast and I want to hold onto every last bit. So I’ll remember years 0-4 fondly but wave goodbye to those wonderful little girls. I will also welcome the excitement of seeing what’s next for you. Warning, I’ll probably get this way at 9yo and 15yo and other random years, too. Stay beautiful, inside and out. -Daddy
