Here’s why you need sunglasses for Spring Break.
🌴 Sun = Stronger UV Rays
Whether you're beach-bound or city exploring, spring sun hits harder than you think. Protect those eyes from serious UV damage.
🏖️ Beach Days = Major Glare
Water + sand reflect sunlight straight into your eyes. Sunglasses = less squinting, more chilling.
📸 Better Photos, Always
No more squinty selfies. Just effortless, main-character energy.
🌊 Pool Parties & Road Trips
From sunrise drives to golden hour hangs, shades keep you comfy and cool all day long.
✨ Instant Style Upgrade
The right pair turns a simple fit into a whole vibe.
Spring break rule #1: SPF for your skin, sunglasses for your eyes.

Don’t leave home without either. 🕶️

Myopia, or nearsightedness, is a growing concern among children, but you can help reduce its progression with these simple tips.

- Encourage your child to spend at least two hours outdoors daily, benefiting from natural light essential for healthy eyes.
- Limit screen time and follow the 20-20-20 rule—taking a 20-second break to look at something 20 feet away every 20 minutes.
- Create a vision-friendly study environment with adequate lighting.
- Ensure your child eats a balanced diet rich in eye-healthy nutrients.
- Schedule regular eye exams to monitor their vision.

Whether you spend a significant amount of your day on a computer, tablet or smartphone, the blue light that is emitted from these devices may be harming your vision and putting you at risk for developing serious eye diseases later in life.

Computer glasses are designed to mitigate the negative effects of blue light. These specialized lenses filter out blue light to protect your eyes from glare—making it easier for you to see the screen clearly without the eye strain. Blue light blocking lenses can also protect your retina from potential damage and may therefore reduce your risk of serious diseases in the future.

Contact The Hills Eye Care and Optical today to learn more about the benefits of computer glasses.

Sometimes in order to get fresh perspective to better how we serve our patients, we have to step outside the office. This past weekend Dr. Crissman Head traveled to beautiful Puerto Rico to attend the Envision Summit 2026 with 15 hours of lectures from optometrists and ophthalmologists from around the country education and enjoy her husband and daughter accompanying her. Meanwhile our staff stepped outside to take a tour of ABB Green ophthalmic lab to see how lenses are fabricated. Can’t wait to bring our new knowledge back to the office to better serve our patients.

Glaucoma usually progresses slowly over several years. Usually, glaucoma affects side vision (peripheral vision) first. You may notice that you begin bumping into things on one or both sides of your body, such as furniture, clipping corners, and not initially seeing people or objects and then seeing them after a second look.

Later, glaucoma may cause “tunnel vision” meaning you can only see straight ahead.
Glaucoma does not have to lead to blindness.

It is important that you see your eye doctor when you notice any changes with your vision.
