Here’s a great example of how minor tweaks can allow your natural beauty to shine through. In this patient’s consultation, we discussed her desire to acknowledge her undereye and her eyelid area. We opted to try to “open up” this area by doing a lower blepharoplasty and then later, an upper blepharoplasty to address extra eyelid skin. At the time of this video, she is four months post-op from a lower blepharoplasty and nearly two months from an upper blepharoplasty.

Fat transfer is a wonderful way to augment the effects of a deep plane facelift. I often will take fat from other parts of the body and then place it in areas of the face to accentuate facial features. In certain patients, though I will take the buccal fat, which is basically the lower cheek fat and then place it higher like I did today in this video. The effect is essentially utilizing facial fat in another location without any additional incisions. Additionally, when it comes to cheek lifting by removing the lower cheek fat, and then placing it higher, it is creating a twofold correction in that the lower face is more slender and the higher cheek is more lifted. This moves the face to a more youthful heart shape as opposed to the square shape that tends to develop as we age. I’m essentially swapping facial fat locations. Thank you for choosing DFP!
