About Medical Boulevard
As worldwide travel regulations ease and domestic healthcare costs increase, patients are increasingly traveling abroad to receive various types of medical treatment. The demand for specialized high-quality health‑care services is surging including plastic surgery practice. According to some medical reports, plastic surgery practices in developing countries are still focussing on the unmet‑need for reconstructive purposes in severe trauma, advanced malignancies, burn contractures and congenital deformities cases. However, data shows that there is an increasing demand for aesthetic plastic surgery in developing countries such as Brazil, Russia, China, and India. There are several reasons for this surge: the growing interest of the Western's world in the global market, the emergence of the beauty industry, and the dominance of youth culture to name a few.
Travelling abroad for a a medical treatment can be risky and complicated. One risk is the practitioner's competence and compliance. Susumu Takayanagi, the president of ISAPSS (The International Society of Aesthetic Plastic Surgery) noted that "Cosmetic surgery abroad can be incredibly risky because the standards vary from one country to the next. It is essential that patients find board-certified plastic surgeons, regardless of where they have a procedure performed." He referred to that in light of two recent deaths of UK citizens who traveled to other countries to have cosmetic procedures; these procedures performed by un-certified practitioners.
Our mission is therefore to connect aesthetic medical tourists with licensed and reputable practitioners in the US. Additionally, we help them in finding housing, cars, and legal assistance for their travel documentation.
