This firefighter came to me after upper eyelid surgery elsewhere, but those lower eye bags still bothered him.

We used a scarless technique from inside the eyelid to move the fat into his cheeks instead of removing it. That’s called fat transposition, and it’s a game changer.

Yes, going under the muscle can reduce the risk of capsular contracture, if you’re using traditional implants.

I tell every husband before a tummy tuck:

“After surgery, Mom can never do the dishes again.”

It’s a joke, but also not really.

After a tummy tuck, moms shouldn’t be doing any of the usual “mom tasks.” No dishes. No walking the dog. No laundry. No lifting, bending, or running the household.

They need real time to rest and recover, and that means someone else has to step up and take over.

My out-of-town patients love this part, because they often spend the first week in a recovery center, no responsibilities, just focused healing.

It’s something I say at every pre-op. Because let’s be honest, Mom has done enough.

This is her time off. And she’s earned it.
