Mental health is health. And for too many men, it goes unspoken and unsupported.

This Mental Health Month, we recognize the importance of addressing the unique challenges men face when it comes to mental health. From stigma to silence, many are conditioned to push through rather than reach out.

But ignoring it does not make it go away. It shows up in stress, in relationships, in physical health, and in overall quality of life.
At The Turek Clinic, we believe real care means looking at the full picture, including mental and emotional well-being.

For a deeper conversation, watch Episode 16 of Talk with Turek, featuring Dennis Barbour, where we break down the male mental health crisis, why young men are at higher risk, and what needs to change.

Su***de is more prevalent among young men, and the data reflects a serious gap in how mental health is being addressed.
Adolescent and young adult males die by su***de at four times the rate of females. This is part of a broader pattern of challenges that includes depression, anxiety, risky behaviors, and accidents.

These issues are deeply connected and point to a larger gap in how we support men’s mental health.

In this clip from Episode 16 of Talk with Turek, Dennis Barbour breaks down what is happening and why it matters.

The conversation around men’s mental health didn’t start where it should have and that gap still impacts outcomes today.

In this clip from Episode 16 of Talk with Turek, Dennis Barbour explains how recognizing the lack of focus on men’s health, especially mental health in young men led to the creation of the Partnership for Male Youth.

Adolescent and young adult males (ages 10–25) are among the most at risk when it comes to mental health challenges, yet they remain the least likely to seek care or support.

Closing that gap starts with awareness and conversations like this.

Many boys grow up with consistent pediatric care, but that often ends around age 16.

After that, there’s no clear transition into routine healthcare for young men. No standard specialist. No preventive milestones.
As a result, many men don’t engage with the healthcare system until something is seriously wrong, often through the emergency room.

This gap means critical conditions can go undetected for years.
In Episode 16 of Talk with Turek, we explore why this happens and what needs to change.

This week is National Infertility Awareness Week. And if you are in the middle of it, the waiting, the wondering, the quietly carrying this together, we want you to know: you are not invisible here.

At The Turek Clinic, we have spent decades listening to men and their partners who were told there was nothing to find. Couples who came to us after years of ""unexplained"" and left with answers, and often, children.

Male factor infertility is behind 50% of all cases. Yet it is still the last thing evaluated, and the first thing dismissed.

We do not do generic. Every man who walks through our doors gets a treatment plan built for him, his biology, his history, his goals, we meet you exactly where you are.

To the men and their partners struggling, we see you.

Four out of five su***des are men.

Despite this, men are far less likely to seek help, talk about their struggles, or open up about what they’re going through. Too often, they face it alone.

This is a cycle that continues to go unaddressed and it’s costing lives.

In Episode 16 of Talk with Turek, the conversation focuses on breaking the silence around men’s mental health and why normalizing these discussions can save lives.

Mental health conditions are getting worse and young men are at the center of the crisis. The assumption that men’s health is being addressed by default is one of the most dangerous myths in medicine.

Males ages 10–25 are the least likely to seek help, yet face:
• ~80% of US su***des are men
• Rising ADHD diagnoses with unclear root causes
• Depression that often goes unnoticed or misdiagnosed
What’s more concerning? Mental health is becoming the primary entry point to understanding overall male health from emotional distress to physical symptoms like infertility.

In Episode 16 of Talk with Turek, Dr. Paul Turek, Rob Clyde, and Dennis Barbour break down why this is happening and what needs to change. Watch or listen to episode 16 now.
