Two people can be the exact same age when getting a facelift and experience very different longevity in their results.

Why? Because aging is influenced by far more than age alone. Genetics, skin quality, sun exposure, stress, weight fluctuations, bone structure, and the integrity of the deeper facial tissues all play a significant role — and those factors differ from person to person.

This is the difference between 1 week post-op vs.3 weeks post-op.

At 1 week, it’s normal to see swelling, bruising, and visible incision lines. In this case, healing may appear more extensive than a typical face and neck lift patient, as this individual also underwent advanced facial paralysis procedures, including a cross-face nerve graft and selective neurolysis.

At 3 weeks, those early signs of healing have significantly improved, revealing a smoother, more refined contour of the face and neck.

This patient’s treatment plan included a face and neck lift, blepharoplasty, facial fat grafting, and facial reanimation procedures.

Healing takes time—and every stage is part of the journey.

More on his full journey to come.

While fillers and fat grafting are commonly used to address volume loss, a deep plane facelift is a powerful tool to reposition the deeper layers of the face to improve prominent “nasolabial fold” also referred to as laugh lines.

Thank you to Town & Country and Danielle Stein Chizzik for including me in a thoughtful piece on facelift outcomes.

There’s a lot of discussion around whether a facelift can “slip,” but the reality is that results aren’t static—they evolve over time and depend on the individual. In the early months after surgery, swelling can create a more lifted appearance before results begin to settle, which is often misunderstood as “slippage.”

Technique, anatomy, and individual factors all play a role in how results look and last. Check out the full piece here: https://www.townandcountrymag.com/style/beauty-products/a71121135/facelift-slip-explained/

A few moments from the NYC Facelift & Rhinoplasty Master Course.

Presented on managing marginal mandibular nerve injury in deep plane facelift and neck contouring, and participated in cadaver dissection alongside an outstanding group of colleagues. Special thanks to Dr. Ramtin Kassir and Dr. Sheila Kassir for organizing.

Sylfirm X is one of the most versatile treatments I use in my practice.

On its own, radiofrequency microneedling can significantly improve skin quality—refining texture, reducing redness, and stimulating collagen.

But where it becomes especially powerful is in combination with a facelift. Surgery restores structure and repositions deeper tissues; treatments like Sylfirm X allow me to further enhance the skin itself.

And this is why it remains one of my top treatments for patients following a facelift.

Regenerative medicine is powerful—but it has limits.

While treatments like PRP, stem cells, and exosomes can improve skin quality, boost collagen, and enhance healing, they cannot replace structural changes that come with aging.

They don’t lift descended tissues.
They don’t reposition deep anatomy.
They don’t restore foundational support.

Facial aging isn’t just about the skin—it’s a 3D process involving skin, fat, muscle, and bone.

The most natural, long-lasting results come from understanding what each approach can (and cannot) do—and using the right tool for the right problem.

Regenerative medicine is an excellent complement… but not a substitute for surgical expertise.
