I want to take a moment to update you on my sister-in-law, Lacey, who has been bravely battling a rare form of brain cancer since her diagnosis in 2023. Many of you have already followed her journey, and I truly appreciate the outpouring of support and love you’ve shown.

She recently shared this heartfelt update, and I want to echo her words as she continues to fight this battle. Despite a stable scan in April, her symptoms have sadly progressed, leading to challenges like constant dizziness, nausea, weakness, loss of balance, and weight loss. She is handling these difficulties with unbelievable strength, but the road ahead is undeniably tough.

No donation is too small, and every bit helps. Your kindness can truly make a difference in Lacey’s fight for her life. Additionally, your prayers and positive thoughts are appreciated during this challenging time.

If you can contribute, please visit the link below. Thank you from the bottom of our hearts for your continued support. Together, we can help Lacey keep fighting. ❤️

There isn’t just one way to do animal-based and this is how I make it work for me.

I love the OG style from - it’s a great reset and starting point. But over time, I’ve found a more flexible, sustainable way that feels better for my body and my lifestyle.

Here’s what my animal-based looks like:

🧬 Prioritize protein: pasture-raised corn & soy free chicken and eggs, 100% grass-fed meats

🍓Fruit + low ox veggies (in season, organic when possible)

🥛Raw dairy in moderation: mostly raw cheese, and for me I limit raw milk (my gut doesn’t doesn’t do well with too much dairy)

🥥 Milk alternative: organic coconut milk

🍯 Natural sugars only: honey, maple syrup & fruit

🔥 I need flavors: clean sauces, hot sauce, organic seasonings

🥣 Extras I love: bone broth, vinegars, bone broth protein powder, tallow chips, and the occasional

I avoid refined sugars and ultra-processed food, but I’m not rigid. My approach is real, whole food cooked at home 90% of the time.

I support my local farms ( for meats & eggs), but I still get most produce from the grocery store (Oklahoma farmers markets are limited on organic options).

This way of eating is a lot more approachable than when I started. Back then it was just meat, eggs, fruit, raw dairy, honey, and maple. My current lifestyle feels more sustainable, and that’s why I created my grocery + recipe ebook—to help you do the same, in a way that works for you.

The goal?
→ Prioritize nutrient-dense foods
→ Avoid the stuff that harms your gut + hormones
→ Don’t stress, just tune into your body and eat with intention

Beyond devastating to watch where I lived for 22 years on fire. These fires are preventable and have been neglected by the governor and major. One of the reasons we left LA is because of who was running the city and state and we knew that things were only going to get worse in CA. I never thought it would be to this level - my main concerns were always around crime, homeless & taxes, but we also knew that if there was something major that would happen that we would be trapped. I am grateful my family and friends in LA are safe and my heart goes out to those who have lost everything.💔

I get messages daily from people experiencing botox poisoning and/or MCAS and are lost about what to do. I was too.

The first thing I want to be clear about is everyone is different with what will help them & their symptoms. This is what helped me when things were at their worst. I did this protocol strictly for about 4-5 months from May 2024-Sept 2024 (approx).

Sticking to this protocol really worked for me and something I still continue, but do now I do not have to be as strict. I did not go to any traditional doctors - this was all based on my own research as well as working with my team of functional medicine doctors.

My botox poisoning & MCAS are about 90% better, but I still deal with symptoms around that time of the month and if I go too far off my healthy diet (like during the holidays) or if I get exposed to toxic environments.

I wish I could help everyone and answer every single message I get, I try to get back to as many of you as possible, but hopefully this can help guide you through it and get to the other side. Truthfully it’s also a hard place to go back to - listening to all your stories and symptoms sometimes makes me spiral a bit and brings me back to that scary place when I was so bad. So I do try to balance helping but also protecting myself from added stress or a fearful mindset. I strongly recommend trying to stay off of the “fear forums” where everyone is talking about their horror stories and telling you all the things you shouldn’t do. When I started posting about this and all of the things I was doing, I was bombarded with people telling me to not do certain things because I would end up sicker or in the hospital - this was not healthy for me. Once I got something in my head it was hard for me to calm down. Plus I was in such a bad state with anxiety, all of those comments would make things worse and I decided very early on to protect myself and stay focused on my path of healing by surrounding myself with positive people (my boyfriend was the best with this), and keeping a calm environment.
