Our Story
Dr. Youssef Tahiri is a Board Certified Plastic and Reconstructive Surgeon with a subspecialty in Craniofacial Surgery. He is well-known, and specializes in microtia ear reconstruction, cleft lip and palate repair, and cranioplasty.
Microtia causes children to be born with a small, misshapen, or missing ear. Because the condition is so uncommon, only a few doctors have the necessary skill and knowledge to treat it successfully. The International Institute for Microtia Repair was founded by Dr. Tahiri, a world leader of Medpor Ear Reconstruction, to help children all over the world with this ear deforming condition.
The purpose of outer ear reconstruction is the restoration of craniofacial balance by creating an aesthetically pleasing, symmetric and long-lasting pinna. Ear reconstruction should be considered an aesthetic procedure and its results should be held to the same critical standards as other cosmetic surgeries.
After having performed multiple techniques for ear reconstructions, Dr. Tahiri decided to only perform Medpor Ear Reconstruction. Dr. Tahiri has extensive experience in Medpor ear reconstruction and is considered a world expert in ear reconstruction.
