The Ebola outbreak in Congo and Uganda is heartbreaking and has had me reflecting on time I spent in Sierra Leone in 2018. I had the honor of teaching mindfulness and heart healing tools to these beautiful children known as The 63 Brave.

They survived the Ebola outbreak in Sierra Leone in 2014. Their families did not.

In these videos, each child is naming the value they chose to embody. Not from what was lost. From what was still possible.

Love. Peace. Brave. Kind. Happy. Free.

Let Me Be is a mantra of intention I have taught for years. You choose a value — peace, love, grace, kindness, truth, gratitude — and allow it to become the energy you bring into this moment.

This is how we move from living mindlessly to living more mindfully. This is how we return to the heart. This is how we fill ourselves up, even when life has emptied us out.

These children are my teachers.

In the middle of everything — whatever is happening in the world, whatever is happening in your life — we still get to choose who we are.

So tell me…
LET ME BE ______
What do you choose today? 🤍

Want more peace? Start here. 🤍
Our brains are naturally wired to notice what arises — what we see, hear, think, and feel.

The worried thought.
The irritating sound.
The anxious feeling.

What we rarely notice is the moment things end.

The barking dog… quiet.
The tight chest… softening.
The still point at the end of an exhale.

Shinzen Young called this practice GONE.
When you notice something ending, you note it. Gone.

Like doing a rep at the gym, each time you notice an ending, you strengthen your capacity for equanimity — more balance in the nervous system and more ease with the natural coming and going of life.

More peace. Not because life gets easier.
Because you stop fighting the fact that everything ends.

Try it right now. Something is ending in this moment.
Notice it.
Gone.🌬️

The voice in your head is not you. It’s a narrator. You are the one listening to it.

Most of us never question this. We just follow the voice — wherever it goes, whatever it says, however cruel it gets. We treat it like it’s us.

Yet there’s a deeper you that exists beneath that voice.
The one that watches.
The one that witnesses.
The one that has been there your whole life — quietly aware, never damaged, never broken.

I remember Michael Singer naming it as “I am the one who watches”. This is the seat of consciousness.

When you find that place — even for a moment — everything changes.

The thoughts are still there. But you are no longer inside them. You are watching them move through you like weather.

And weather always passes.🌦️

You don’t have to believe every thought your mind produces. You don’t have to suffer every story it tells.

You can simply notice: there’s that thought again … and let it go.

That is the practice we learn in meditation. A pathway to inner freedom

You are not your thoughts. You are the awareness behind them.

Send this to someone who needs this reminder today.✨

We medicate it, distract from it, hustle past it. Nobody taught us to just… feel it.

But resistance isn’t the enemy.
It may just be the doorway. 🚪

W.E.A.K. is a 4-step mantra for exactly these moments:

W — Welcome what’s arising. Don’t fight it.
E — Energy wants to move. Let it.
A — Allow it to move through you.
K — Kindness toward yourself as it does.

This practice is for the moments when you’re spiraling at 3am, judging yourself, or hitting a wall you can’t explain.

You don’t have to push through.
You can welcome your way through.

Holding these memories close to my heart.🥰

My dearest Eli and Chloe, I am so grateful to be your mom. You are my greatest teachers and my deepest loves. On this Mother’s Day, I want to thank you both for being exactly as you are. I feel so lucky to be your mom.

Even though we aren’t together today, my heart is so full. One of the sweetest parts of parenting older kids is getting little glimpses into your lives—a video sent from far away, a call, a photo, a moment that lets me know you are right where you need to be… exploring, growing, and stepping into your next chapter.

And truly… seeing you both happy in your lives is the greatest gift I could ever receive. Nothing fills my heart more than knowing you have found your way and are living your lives fully. I treasure you both endlessly.💗

Sending love to all the moms, sisters, friends, and communities who mother and nurture us when we need it most. This day can hold so much—love, gratitude, grief, longing, joy, and everything in between.

Wherever you are, and however today feels, I send you love. I hope you can do something kind for yourself or with someone you love today.

Blessings to all. 🤍

One decision can change the direction of your entire life.✨

The moment you stop saying
“This is just who I am”
and start asking
“Who am I becoming?”
everything begins to shift.

You are not your pain.
You are not your conditioning.
You are not the worst thing that happened to you.

The bravest thing you’ll ever do is choose yourself — again and again.

Healing begins the moment you remember
you still have a choice. 🌱

To the best of the best.✨

My mentor… my dear friend… and a true weaver of the threads of life.🪡🧵

We are gathered here today
to celebrate this thing called life.
And today, we celebrate you.

On 5/5, a day that feels like a portal in itself, we honor your birth — you remind us that this entire existence was created at the heart of a star… that we are stardust, breathing stardust… stardust listening to stardust… every moment, a stardust moment.🌟

Thank you, davidji, for the endless wisdom you share so generously, for teaching us how to breathe instead of hold our breath, for guiding us each morning back to ourselves through meditation and calling forward the best within us.🧘🏻

Thank you for the belly laughs that bring so much light, the depth, the shadow and the light—and the way you walk beside so many on this path.

We are all so lucky to feel your ripple in the world. 🌊

Happy, happy birthday !
Let’s go crazy… and ripple a flood of love back to you and into the world today. 💜💜💜💜
