Eastern medicine often viewed the body as responding to far more than symptoms alone.
Pressure. Pace. Emotional strain. Internal conflict. The environment the body has been adapting to over time.
Sometimes the first step is not forcing the body harder.
Sometimes the first step is creating more balance internally so the body is no longer living in a constant state of pressure.
When I was paralyzed in 2006 and confined to a wheelchair, learning how to calm internal extremes became part of supporting my system while overcoming an autoimmune condition.
The body often responds differently when the environment surrounding it begins to change.
