“There is no coming to consciousness without pain. People will do anything, no matter how absurd, in order to avoid facing their own Soul. One does not become enlightened by imagining figures of light, but by making the darkness conscious.”

Sobriety is like most things in life worth having. If you really want it, work hard at it and stay relentless in your pursuit of it, it will be yours! The end result will be that you won't ever want to trade your sobriety for the slavery of addiction.
