Lower back pain is the thing I hear about more than anything else as a mobile massage therapist in LA.
And here's what I've learned: the spot that hurts is usually not the whole story.
The quadratus lumborum (QL) is one of the most common pain generators I work with — it's a deep muscle that refers pain right into the low back and SI joint region. And the glute medius? Constantly getting mistaken for a back problem when it's actually a hip problem presenting as back pain.
In my latest post, I break down the real muscle culprits behind most lower back pain, what a session actually looks like, and why the intake conversation matters so much before any work begins.
If you've been dealing with it and haven't found lasting relief, there might be something worth exploring. Link in comments.
