The updated Second Edition is AVAILABLE NOW!! (Link in bio)✨✨✨

This labor of passion began one summer night in 2011 as I was sitting by the water in Big Bear Lake, CA. I remember I wrote an outline and thought it would just be a helpful pamphlet of maybe 15 pages. It become much more and The First Edition was published in 2014 and was featured in and on (a s3xual health providers dream!), (w/ Dr. Drew) and many more. Fast forward 15 years and here’s the release of my Second Edition and I’m SO grateful for the countless feedback I’ve had from patients and providers that have used this as their go-to manual 🙏🏼🙏🏼🥳

⚡️What’s new? I’ve incorporated more info to help those with and painful s3x, and revised content for .

📖 Get your copy at the link above and have better s3x by the summer☀️

P.S. Endometriosis is not just a disease of the uterus. By its definition, it is when tissue similar to the lining of the uterus (but not the same as) is found OUTSIDE of the uterus. You can have endometriosis of the uterus, and this is called Adenomyosis. You can also have endometriosis of the ovaries-called Endometrioma. Endo can be found throughout the abdominal region, commonly around the bowel and bladder, giving you symptoms with those organs as well (such as constipation or loose stools and bladder pain or frequency). It can be found in other parts of the body, too. For more info on Endo, follow all month. Tag friends to spread the word🌟

ENDOMETRIOSIS AWARENESS MONTH ///
🤷🏽‍♀️What is Endometriosis?
💛Endometriosis is a condition where endometrial-like tissue (tissue that is similar to, but not the same as the tissue that lines the uterus) grows OUTSIDE of the uterus. The most common area for it to grow is in the abdominal cavity, where it can implant on the surface of other structures including the ovaries, bladder, re**um, and along the walls of the abdomen and pelvis. Endometriosis of the ovaries is called an endometrioma. Endometriosis of the uterus is called adenomyosis.

🤷🏼‍♀️What can a licensed pelvic floor physical therapist do to help?
💛Pelvic floor physical therapy for endometriosis can help manage the associated pain, ASSIST WITH PRE- and post-op Endo surgery, thus helping to restore quality of life, sexual function, and empower those with endo with the tools they need to help manage symptoms in the long run. Although pelvic floor therapy cannot reverse the endometrial growth that has occurred in the body, it can help manage the pain and treatments include visceral work on adhesions and myofascial trigger points of the pelvic floor muscles plus other hands-on techniques and corrective exercises. More Endo info and treatment techniques in upcoming posts!

We’re collecting donations at our 3 offices in Los Angeles to help those affected by the fires in our city. Just swipe to find what locations and what dates/times we’re collecting and a list of items we are looking to collect.

There’s always the trend during a disaster of that initial wave of help, but this is a marathon, not a sprint.

We will be doing ongoing collections during these times until the organizations we are working with say they no longer need donations. But I don’t see that really ever happening because even after the fires, we still have an unhoused problem and so will continue to accept these donations from our patients and from our community on an ongoing basis.

We’re collecting for local organizations and .

Missing school or work due to severe pain during your period (or know someone that does?). Keeping reading and share💛

What is the difference between normal period pain versus severe period pain that is ’normalized’. Here are a few examples:

Normal:
Mild cramping
Abnormal:
Severe abdominal pain and cramping

Normal:
Appetite changes throughout your cycle
Abnormal:
Severe abdominal bloating (for example/ a size 2 in the AM and a size 8 by the afternoon)

Normal:
Bleeding that may be slightly heavier your first couple of days, sometimes passing clots smaller than a quarter
Abnormal:
Prolonged, heavy bleeding and passing clots frequently larger than the size of a quarter

Normal:
Mild pain, nothing a single Motrin doesn’t calm down
Abnormal:
Severe pain that a Motrin or 3 doesn’t touch, sometimes with nausea and vomiting. Emergency room visits are no stranger to you during your period

Normal:
Can go to work or school - pain, if any, is under control
Abnormal:
Multiple missed days or school and/or work due to period pain

Which category do you fall in? I’m LA-based if you are in SoCal or feel free to DM me if you searching for providers near you in the US or internationally ☀️☀️☀️
P.S. it’s also important to understand the difference between Endometriosis and adenomyosis. Check back on my previous posts to be clear on the differences💛💙
