Port-wine stains are permanent birthmarks and result from enlarged blood vessels that discolor the skin a reddish-purple color. On a newborn, it appears as a flat, smooth patch of pink or red. Over time, it may grow broader, darker, and thicker.

At Danesh Dermatology, we treat them with ease using the Cutera Excel V laser. This patient’s port-wine stains on their neck that they have had since birth are now barely noticeable!

Tomorrow, Thursday November 10th at 9 AM, MAX BioPharma will launch a crowdfunding campaign in order to examine the efficacy of its oxysterol drug candidate, Oxy210, in an in vivo model of human psoriasis and psoriatic arthritis. This is based on very promising data generated by the company and published recently in the peer-reviewed International Journal of Molecular Sciences that showed the ability of Oxy210 to potently inhibit inflammatory responses of human and mouse macrophages to various inflammatory agents. Since macrophages are the primary immune cells that trigger inflammation in psoriasis and psoriatic arthritis by activating T cells, inhibiting macrophage inflammatory responses by Oxy210 will target the root cause of inflammation in psoriasis and psoriatic arthritis. Given the efficacy of Oxy210, its safety profile, oral bioavailability, and relatively inexpensive cost, Oxy210 will be a more effective therapy for psoriasis and psoriatic arthritis that current biological drugs on the market including Enbrel and Cosentyx (both expensive injectables). Meet Dr. Gina Danesh! Dr. Danesh grew up in Santa Monica, CA with dreams of bringing support to people in need by becoming a physician. She earned her Family Medicine degree from Western University of Health Sciences following her Bachelor's of Science degree from the University of California, Los Angeles. She joined the practice in 2001, and began her work in lasers and dermatology. Dr. Danesh is an active member in both the American College of Osteopathic Family Physicians (ACOFP) and the American Osteopathic Association (AOA).

Dr. Danesh utilizes a variety of techniques to enhance patient’s skin, decrease signs of aging, and more. These methods include the use of Platelet Rich Plasma (PRP) for hair loss and aging skin, Microneedling for acne scars, Microdermabrasion for skin quality, Chemical Peels for acne. Dr. Danesh also utilizes the Cutera Laser for broken capillaries, the Pinpoint Laser for nail fungal infection, Fractionated CO2 Laser for aging and rejuvenation, and the Radiofrequency for wrinkles and scarring.

Meet Dr. Danesh!

Sid Danesh, M.D., F.A.A.D., is a Double Board Certified in Dermatology and Internal Medicine, and practices in Beverly Hills and San Gabriel. He was trained at Wayne State University in Michigan and is a member of both the American Society of Dermatologic Surgery and the American Academy of Dermatology.

He is also an attending physician at San Gabriel Valley Medical Center and Cedars-Sinai Medical Center.

Dr. Danesh utilizes a wide variety of methods, often incorporating cutting edge procedures which include: IPL (intense pulse light); fillers such as Radiesse, Juvederm, and Restylane; neuromodulators including Botox and Xeomin; laser resurfacing techniques through treatments from Fractionated CO2 Lasers, Dermabrasion, Microneedling and Chemical Peels. Adjunct to his practice is also the treatment of acne, undesired body hair, and varicose veins.
