I’m so proud and genuinely stoked to have been part of the Active Pro Grant Program workshop for these incredible future nurses. Their curiosity, compassion, and openness to learning body-based tools for supporting birthing people absolutely lit me up.

As International Doula Month comes to a close, I’m reflecting on a birth that reminded me exactly why I do this work.
I had the honor of supporting a strong mama through a beautiful, unmedicated hospital birth on the last day of International Doula Month. When I walked into the room, the nurse was already calling for the anesthesiologist. But I gently reminded the birthing person of everything we had practiced—how we could move, breathe, make space for baby, and keep labor flowing. She paused, took a deep breath, and chose to continue laboring without the epidural.

Three hours later, her baby was in her arms—born gently, without interventions.

It’s not just about me. It’s about all of us—my incredible sister doulas—who hold space, offer guidance, and trust the process right alongside our clients. I’m proud to be part of this community and this calling. 💜
