No one doubted you (least of all me or your man), but DAMN were you made for this!

Your birth was quick and steady, and you never lost confidence in your abilities…the rarest of rarities during labor, particularly your first time! I hope you could feel how impressed we all were at how intuitively you worked through your waves, in all types of water. We used every ice pack and fan in the place and tried to keep up with you, but let’s face it, you didn’t need us. You and your girl had it all worked out. I will never forget E’s corkscrew entrance to the world, Simone Biles in training!

Watching you bring your baby here with such confidence and intuition was a gift. You’re incredible, never forget it. And please invite me to the next one 😊

✨I had the pleasure of supporting Phoebe last summer through her third birth, and am thrilled that she has officially joined the Thrive team as a birth doula! We figured there’s no better way to introduce her than to tell you about her most recent birth from both of our points of view 👯‍♀️

✨Phoebe’s own 2 babies ignited her passion for birth, and this plus her giant heart led her to serve as a gestational carrier for a pair of hopeful dads from France. We thought we’d spend her easy breezy pregnancy visits planning lightly for an easy breezy third birth…but as anyone who has been around the block a time or 2 will remind you, those third babies…they don’t play by the rules! 👨‍🎤

✨French Fry kept us all on our toes, but she navigated every twist, turn, and international travel logistic with grace and patience. She advocated for herself and thought critically about her choices each step of the way, but never lost sight of the meaning of this journey for French Fry’s dads. She took amazing care of her own babies AND theirs through unexpected change after unexpected change. She welcomed SO. MANY. BOYS. into her birthing space! There wasn’t a dry eye in the room when she welcomed le bebe earthside 🥹

What a year it’s been at Thrive Doula Columbus 💛

From supporting 28 (maybe 29?) births to educating 75 families on childbirth, this work continues to be an honor we never take lightly. Every birth, every family, every moment matters.

We’re celebrating the wins — vaginal births, VBAC successes, first-time parents, repeat clients — and also setting intentions for the year ahead. Our goals center on integrity, sustainability, expanded postpartum support, and continued work toward maternal health equity in our community.

Thank you to every family who trusted us with their care and every supporter who believes in this mission. We’re excited for what’s next 🤍
