I'm home from the hospital! Excuse how I look. Of course, I'm sure I look much better than I did in yesterday's photo 😆.
Anyway, Rob has me resting comfortably while he's fixing supper. What a gem 💎 he is. He's taking such great care of me. He won't let me lift a finger.
More info I forgot to post: Once my primary physician speaks with my nephrologist & the transplant hospital, I guess I'll know what the next step is. I don't know if I'll have to be on dialysis for a time or not. Also, because I haven't been able to eat without being sick or in pain, I've been told to concentrate on fluids & drink Ensure, if I can tolerate it. When I went to the doctor last week, I was told I had lost over 50 pounds since January 2025. I joked that if I had tried to lose weight on purpose, I wouldn't have been that successful.😆 It's definitely no fun losing weight this way. Again, they fortunately found no new issues with my health when doing tests. But I was told to stay away from foods containing potassium, because at this stage of kidney failure, they're concerned about my heart as well. I was also informed that my spinal surgery would have to be paused until my kidneys were taken care of, because it's too dangerous for me to have any surgeries at this stage.

UPDATE ON MY HEALTH: 💜🦋

I've been trying to put this off, but several people have been asking.
Currently, my condition is worsening. I have more bad days than good, although I still keep a positive attitude. I'm still waiting on my kidney transplant. My nephrologist & I have been discussing having my transplant moved to Cleveland Clinic. But at this point, we don't know anything yet. Seeing that I already have several people who have offered their kidney, my nephrologist thinks that it would be best to try this option instead of continuing to wait.
Not many know this, but several years ago I spent a short amount of time in a wheelchair. The doctors at Goodman Campbell Brain & Spine said I may be in a wheelchair for the rest of my life if I didn't have surgery immediately. That's when I had my first surgery . Subsequently, I had two more in the following years. I recently found out that I may be facing a 4th spinal surgery due to this old injury. I'll do my best to keep everyone updated as soon as I know anything.
Thanks to everyone who has been keeping up on my condition, & all those who have done anything to help. I appreciate each & every one of you & love you very much.

UPDATE on 01/01/2025

Sorry if we worried anyone! I had been experiencing swelling, redness & pain in my legs & ankles for about 4 days.
Rob took me out to Texas Roadhouse for New Year's Eve. After we returned home, the pain & swelling worsened. So, Rob ended up taking me to the ER. They did an EKG, lung x-ray, & blood work. They were going to keep me, because they thought I may have a blood clot, & my kidney function had dropped slightly. But ended up sending me home, thinking it was either my kidneys or an infection. The doctor called in some antibiotics & told me to keep me feet up & contact my doctor's office for an appointment.
Today the swelling has gone down considerably. We're thinking that it was fluid from my kidneys, & eating out made it worse. But I already have an appointment with my doctor, & will update you further after that.

I could use some good advice. Peg is having issues with her legs tonight. Her ankles are very swollen, more so than normal. We thought of going to the ER at the hospital, but aren't sure if anything could be done there. She's in pain from this. Are there any nurses out there that have any advice to give us? She's sitting in my recliner with her legs elevated. Anything else that we can do? Thanks so much for any advice you can offer.
