🖤 Our hearts are with the Mammoth Mountain Ski Patrol family today.

This morning, two dedicated patrollers were caught in an avalanche while doing critical mitigation work to keep the slopes safe. Both were rescued quickly and are receiving medical care—one with serious injuries.

We know the risks our fellow patrollers take every day. Please join us in sending thoughts, prayers, and strength to the injured patrollers, their families, and the entire Mammoth team. The mountain community stands together. ❤️🙏

🎿 Bill Baxter Celebration of Life 🎿

We are deeply saddened to share that Bill Baxter, a long-time patroller with Snow Summit, has passed away. His dedication and spirit will always be remembered. A burial service will be held on Friday, August 8 at 9:30 AM at Riverside National Cemetery, followed by a gathering in Big Bear with the family.

On Saturday, August 9 at 11 AM, we will gather to ride the chairlift in honor of his wishes. All are welcome to join for either or both events—please feel free to share this with others. A lunch and toast to Bill with a cold beer will follow on the deck. ❤️

Six incredible individuals have just earned their ‘bones,’ officially becoming Alpine Patrollers for the San Bernardino Mountain Patrol! After countless hours of dedication, training, and hard work, these patrollers have proven their skill, commitment, and readiness to keep our mountains safe. Job well done—congratulations on this well-deserved achievement!

Two more unsung heroes, Paul and Julius—though not pictured—have passed the OET test and are ready to begin their mentoring, poised to become the next additions to our family. Congratulations on your impressive achievement and welcome to the journey ahead!
