Bear Valley Community Hospital provides services to the residents, 2nd homeowners and visitors of Big Bear Valley who are in need of emergency medical care 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. We are staffed by Board Certified physicians and provide inpatient and outpatient surgical services such as; ophthalmology, and pain management/epidural and elective surgery. Other services include our full-service Imaging Department providing radiology, CT scans, ultrasound, bone density screening and mammography. We also offer Physical Therapy for our patients and nutrition/diet information with our Registered Dietician. Our Family Health Center and Rural Health Clinic offers; Family Practice, Internal Medicine, Chiropractic Services, Pain Management, Cardiology, Dental Services, Pediatric Nurse Practitioner and Obstetrics/Gynecology. We also offer Big Bears ONLY parenting Education and Resource Center, called The Mom and Dad Project. Our skilled nursing facility is a 21 bed facility that is designated for long term care or short term rehabilitation.

It's World Parkinson's Day. Did you know Parkinson's disease is the second most common neuro-degenerative disease behind Alzheimer's? More than a million Americans are living with Parkinson's, and the cause is still unknown. Common symptoms of Parkinson's include: tremors, slowed movements, rigid muscles, poor posture, poor balance, speech issues, and even changes in handwriting. There is currently no cure.

BVCHD recently launched a new support group for those in our community for those living with a Parkinson's diagnosis. If Parkinson's is impacting your life, we hope you will join us.

Have you been staying on top of your preventative cancer screenings? Common tests like mammograms, colonoscopies, Pap tests and skin checks for melanoma could literally save your life. All of these procedures can be done right here in Bear Valley through the BVCHD health system.

According to the National Institutes of Health, between 1975 and 2020, almost 6 million cancer deaths were averted through a combination of prevention, screening, and improved treatments. Are you dealing with a Parkinson's diagnosis? BVCHD is launching an in-person support group for those in our community impacted by Parkinson's disease. The goal is simple: to provide support to one another and provide education about Parkinson's and how to manage it. This group is geared toward those living with Parkinson's, but care partners are also welcome to attend.

Serving as a primary caregiver for a loved one can be emotional, isolating, and exhausting. That's why we're launching a 12-week online caregiver support group. This professionally-facilitated group will provide practical care-giving tools, burnout prevention techniques, and a community who understands what you're going through.

This group is specifically geared toward family caregivers providing in-home care.

April is Alcohol Awareness Month. Did you know alcohol use is a major risk factor for numerous diseases, as well as a leading preventable cause of death nationwide? Research shows alcohol-related issues appear to be more prevalent in rural and remote communities such as Big Bear Valley. At BVCHD, we're here to support those in our community who are dealing with alcohol addiction. Every Tuesday at 4 p.m., community members concerned about their drinking are welcome to attend our Smart Recovery group at Bear Valley Community Hospital, and there is no charge to attend.

Need more help? Our Medical Stabilization Program offers medical detoxification of drugs, alcohol, and pain medication. Patients are accepted daily between 8 am and 5 p.m., and enrollment is covered by most private and government insurance plans. Call our intake number at 909-878-8203 or 909-878-2362.
