Here's the letter than ran in this week's Grizzly.

A heartfelt thank you for supporting Measure U

On behalf of the Bear Valley Community Healthcare District and everyone who values quality health care in our valley, we extend our deepest gratitude to the voters of San Bernardino County for approving Measure U in the June 24 election. With 80% voting “Yes,” you’ve renewed your commitment to continued access to quality health care and new services — for another 10 years.

This overwhelming show of support ensures that our community hospital can continue delivering lifesaving emergency care, updating critical medical equipment, and maintaining a highly qualified team of doctors and nurses.

Beyond the numbers, your votes send a clear message: We are committed to keeping health care accessible and dependable right here in Big Bear Valley. Thank you to everyone who took the time to vote, volunteered on behalf of Measure

U, shared information or simply talked with neighbors — it all added up to this great outcome.

As we move forward, trust that your investment will go directly toward enhancing our local hospital services. We are excited about what is ahead and deeply appreciate your continued faith in this essential community institution.

On behalf of the BVCHD Board of Directors, leadership, medical staff, foundation, auxiliary and our valued patients, we are humbled and grateful for your overwhelming vote of confidence in the work we do the improve the health of our friends and neighbors.

With gratitude,

Steven Baker, Chair, BVCHD Board of Directors

Evan Rayner, Chief executive officer, BVCHD

Jeffrey Orr, M.D. Chief of Staff
