The first generation of people with hemophilia to live past 50 are aging in a world that doesn’t know what to do with them. “I wasn’t expecting to be alive past 12, then 15, then 35-ish, and now I’m a fluffy 50 and having to deal with a system that’s not ready for me,” said Bobby Wiseman...

From our friend at Network for Good:

Financial Assistance Grants for people with chronic conditions

All,

We have been contacted by the Colburn-Keenan Foundation, who've asked us to reach out to you to let you know of funds they still have available for 2021, see below.

Individual Financial Assistance Grant program where individuals and families can apply to us for financial assistance, up to $2,000, to meet their urgent medical, basic survival, and quality of life needs. Due to the large award amounts, this application is quite lengthy and we do require supporting documentation.

Emergency Assistance Grant program where individuals and families can apply to us for financial assistance, up to $500, to cover an unexpected bill such as a car repair, appliance repair, high electric bill, etc. The requested bill must be included with the application and the $500 must cover the majority of the bill with an explanation as to how the difference will be paid.

If want to go ahead and apply for these grants, send me an email and I will pass on the application.

Best wishes

Have you ever been to a holiday dinner with two tables? One table is designated for “the adults” and the other is for “the kids.” Growing up, this was the case at many family gatherings. I felt offended when I, as a teenager in high school, was stuck at the children’s table with my much-yo...
