Friends of Mr. A

Friends of Mr. A As many of you know, Francis Avagliano, better known as “Mr. A”, remains in good physical health but is facing cognitive challenges that come with time.

We’ve created this page to keep those who love and admire him informed and connected.

Today is a big step as Mr. A’s house is being sold, a home filled with countless cherished memories over the years. Valerie Clark, a trusted friend and confidant, will help find the next person who will love this home as deeply as the Avagliano family has. Please keep Mr. A in your prayers, and feel free to share. ❤️

Great day for a hot dog at Jim’s Texas Hots. Mr. A called it “perfection.” 🌭😊 Huge thank you to Denise for lunch.

The best part was Mr. A running into one of his former students who is now an attorney he once kept out of trouble.

He has been smiling ever since. Nothing lifts a retired teacher’s heart like finding out the “handful” in the back row grew up just fine and definitely didn’t end up on America’s Most Wanted. 😆

Great mindset. Blessed day. ❤️

Keeping everyone posted. Now that the code violations are cleared, we are getting ready to put the house on the market. A few people have already reached out, so if anyone may be interested in a multi unit home in a prime location with ample off street parking, before it’s officially listed, please inbox us for further details.

We also want to share, from a place of honesty, why this step is necessary. Nursing care in the dementia unit is now $16,500 a month, and the disinhibition, impulsivity, and personality changes that come with Dementia have progressed to a point where Mr. A cannot safely live outside of a nursing facility. These behaviors are symptoms of the disease, not choices, and they require the kind of constant, specialized supervision that only trained professionals can provide.

Every decision we make is rooted in protecting him. His safety, his dignity, and his sense of peace matter more than anything. We are doing what love looks like at this stage of his journey, making sure he is cared for, watched over, and surrounded by people who understand his needs.

Hallelujah. After 4 long months of blood, sweat, tears, and more prayers than we can count, Mr. A’s home is finally cleared of every single code violation. God carried us through every setback and every moment when we felt like we were running on empty. This blessing is real, and we feel it deep in our spirits.

And just before our inspection, we found a squatter who had just moved under the porch. Corning PD came immediately, secured the area, and made sure the home is safe. Please keep a watch out and keep this place in your prayers.

Our gratitude for the people who helped us is deeper than words.

Steve Serdula, thank you for your wisdom and for answering every single time we called. Leonard's Bldg & Remodeling thank you for securing Mr. A's home. Jacob Vancuren, thank you for standing with us through every pipe break, every flood, every moment we thought we were finally in the clear only to be hit again. You showed up with steady hands and a steady heart, and we will never forget it. Tish, Lindsay, and Alex, thank you for preparing for Fish’s Hauling and Removal Service with patience, strength, and kindness. Dan Mayo and his crew, thank you for the construction work that rebuilt not only a home but a sense of hope. Carr's Trucking and Snow Removal, thank you for coming every time we cried out for help. Norm's Carpet Cleaning, thank you. Jeremy Clarkson, thank you for your patience and believing in us.

To every single person who stepped in, stepped up, or stood beside us, your kindness became the backbone of this entire journey.

This was not just a project. It was a calling. A community rising together. A labor of love for a man who deserves dignity, safety, and peace. It took all of you and we will carry this gratitude with us for the rest of our lives. ~Angie & Andrea ❤️

Mark, Lindsay, Christine, Ruth Ann, Reanne, Lorelei, Terry, Bob, Reneta, and Maureen…our hearts are overflowing. This mighty group showed up for Mr. A with more love than we could ever measure. Every hour you gave, every task you took on, every quiet act of care is keeping him safe and supported in his nursing home.

This home now holds your fingerprints in the most beautiful way. Not just on the walls, but in the story of how we came together and wrapped one man in love when he needed it most. ❤️ ~Angie & Andrea

It truly takes the two of us to keep Mr. A safe on our adventures. And yet, out there in the open air, something quietly powerful happens. He comes back to us in pieces, in glances, in calm moments that dementia so often tries to steal. A breeze, a bit of sunshine, and it is as if the world gently returns him to us again. We hold those moments carefully with love and patience. 💛 ~Angie & Andrea
