Big Island Emergency Crew, Inc.

The Big Island Emergency Crew has been actively responding to emergency calls, responding to 60 incidents in the Big Island Community and surrounding Bedford County areas since the beginning of the year.

Today, Support 2-1 was the first unit to arrive to a single-vehicle accident in the Coleman Falls area, where the occupant was safe and sustained non-life-threatening injuries. Upon arrival, Fire-Ambulance 14-2 took over patient care. Although Ambulance 2-1 was initially dispatched to the scene, it was canceled prior to arrival, and BIVFD arrived to handle traffic control.

We appreciate the community's ongoing support, which enables us to deliver effective services.

Happy New Year to everyone! 2025 was a year of great achievements for BIEC. We responded to 214 emergency calls in 2025. Thanks to our volunteers for their hard work, and thanks to our community for their continued support. We wish all of you a blessed new year!

On 12/15/2025 at 18:37 hours, units were dispatched to a possible structure fire in the Big Island community. Big Island Emergency Crew arrived on scene at 18:44 hours and Ambulance 2-1 set up EMS division. Fire crews then arrived and found a fire contained to the chimney which was extinguished with no injuries to occupants or first responders to report. Thanks everyone for your assistance on this call.
