Not every transformation can be seen on the outside.
The biggest transformation I’ve had (besides becoming a mother) is the transformation I’ve made in my mind.
I used to think that things were happening “to me”. That I was a victim of my life circumstances.
That because of the family I was born into, or our socioeconomic status that I’d always only be capable of a certain level of success.
Two things I learned:
1. Each person can have their own definition of success — and it could look completely different than someone else’s.
2. You have more control over your life than you ever realized. Certainly there are things that happen that are out of your control — and it’s good to become aware of what is and what isn’t.
However, I often see people holding on to certain narratives that they have about themselves (usually these were things that were told to them from someone else about who they are)
Ex: you’ll never amount to anything, you’ll always be that way.
So we subconsciously hold on to these words as truths, and it holds us back from becoming the person we were meant to be.
The truth is… you are capable of anything you put your mind to.
But it isn’t until you let go of the hurt you felt from the past, that you can step into the person you truly ARE. The real, genuine, authentic you.
And the beauty of it all, is that when you do shed all those layers of negativity, self-doubt, criticism & pain, you open the door to joy, peace, hope, and excitement for all the opportunities life has to offer.
This is the work I’ve spent years processing, understanding and applying to my own life & circumstances.
And it’s funny, because had it not been for the company I partner with strongly encouraging this type of self-growth, I’m not sure that I ever would have found it on my own.
I’m grateful to have that kind of working partnership, and to be a part of a company that truly cares about the well-being of each of their team members.
