HEALTY TIPS OF THE WEEK!

CHOSE BRIGHT COLORED VEGGIES!!
Make your plate look like a rainbow of different colors everyday!!
dark green: broccoli, kale , spinach, leaf lettuce;
starchy: corn, potatoes, green peas;
red, orange: carrots, sweet potatoes, squash, tomatoes;
beans and peas: lentils, chickpeas, blac beans;
other: asparagus, avacado, beets, mushrooms, onions, zucchini.
Different methods to prepare veggies with little or no added fat: raw, steamed, roasted, grilled;

WASH VEGGIES WITH A SOLUTION MADE WITH 3 PARTS WATER, ONE PART WHITE VINEGAR....SPRAY AND RINSE WITH COLD WATER.

Ways to add veggies to your meals: add to sandwiches, wraps, stir-fries, spaghetti sauces or soups, and add to omelets, and pastas .

Well, Michigan weather kept us from doing the scavenger hunt like we had originally planned, but we pivot and adjust! It ended up being a great evening to watch a classic movie and a new movie. Thank you to all who participated

Thank you Traverse House Clubhouse, The Gathering Place Clubhouse, Affinity House, Fresh Start Clubhouse, Genesis House Clubhouse, Howell, MI, USA, Light of Hope Clubhouse-Alpena, Crossroads Clubhouse and Petosky Clubhouse for making New Colleague training such a great experience! It was NJC's pleasure to host this training. We enjoyed all of the energy each and every one of you brought during this training and the shared learning opportunities we were all able to participate in

NJC was all geared up and ready to go for the outdoor movie event. Unfortunately, due to the weather, it did end up being indoors, but this did not bring down our spirits!
