Congratulations to MCO alumna and one of our Alumni of the Year, Ramanpal Deol, O.D., on earning her American Academy of Optometry Diplomate in Low Vision!

The American Academy of Optometry welcomed a record number of 329 new Fellows. Eleven current Fellows earned the distinction of Diplomate.

66 children from 5 rural public schools, 37 MCO students, 1 resident, 12 MCO faculty/administrators, 3 Fremont Lions Club chaperones, 10 school chaperones, 10 MCO staff, 1 project director, 1 staff lead, 3 IT staff with 1 lead, 5 school liaisons, and numerous lives touched- this is the impact of the Students in Need of Eyecare program!

We are enormously thankful for the support of the Fremont Area Community Foundation and their Donor-Directed funds, the Fremont Lions Club, the Michigan College of Optometry, and the FSU Academic Service-Learning program. Special thanks to Lions project director Roger Bradshaw for his time and commitment to the program. We helped a lot of children with their eye care needs today!
