It’s tough to say goodbye to our third years as they become fourth year externs all over the state and country. They are a great class of kind, empathetic, talented almost doctors and we look forward to welcoming them back for hooding and graduation in one year!

The MCO Vision Rehabilitation Workshop was a success, providing third years with two full low vision rehabilitation examinations on volunteer patients. A HUGE thank you to the low vision rehabilitation optometrists (Drs. Day, Kaminski, Aslakson, Hinkley, Becker, Leahy, and Donnellon) who gave up a day of their practice or teaching to mentor MCO students and share their experiences in this underserved area of optometry.

Remote Area Medical is back at Ferris State Saturday, May 30 through Sunday, May 31. In addition to general volunteers, RAM needs optometrists and opticians in their vision clinic. If you are interested in volunteering for this, you can follow the QR code in the attached flyer to register.
