All Appalachian Vision offices will be closed starting on Wednesday, 11/26/2025, until we reopen with regular business hours on Monday, 12/01/2025 so our team can enjoy Thanksgiving with their families.

If you have an eye emergency during this time, please call our office and press #2 to leave a voicemail. One of our doctors will return your call as soon as possible.

A quick reminder for eye safety during Thanksgiving:
-Be careful around hot oil, steam, and splattering food while cooking.
-Use caution when carving or cutting, no rushing with sharp utensils.
-Keep clean hands and avoid rubbing your eyes, especially if you’re handling spices like pepper or seasoning.

Open Enrollment for Virginia Medicaid is almost here for our Southwest Virginia neighbors! 🌄
Open enrollment is the time each year when Virginia Medicaid members can choose or change their managed care health plan.

🗓 Southwest VA Open Enrollment Dates:
December 19, 2025 – February 28, 2026

If you or your family are covered by Virginia Medicaid, this is a great time to:
Make sure your eye exams are covered
Confirm that your eye doctor is in-network
Schedule your annual comprehensive eye exam

At Appalachian Vision, we are currently in-network with the following Virginia Medicaid managed care plans:

🎃👻 The team at Appalachian Vision had a monster of a good time dressing up as Monsters, Inc. for the elementary school’s Trick-or-Treat event! 💜👾
