We are soooo proud of Molly Hutchinson! We are traveling down to cheer her on as she helps therapists, counselors and mental health professionals alike view suicidal ideation with a new (refreshing) lens that empowers the client. Way to go Molly.
Meet Molly Hutchinson, SWLC - tackling one of today's most pressing mental health challenges: the digital age ๐ป๐ฑ
As founder of Healing Roots Counseling in Kalispell, Molly specializes in working with individuals struggling with suicidality. Her experience includes hands-on work at crisis intervention centers and the 988 su***de prevention hotline - she's literally been on the front lines where technology meets crisis. ๐โก
Her presentation "Connected but Alone: How the Internet Fuels Su***de Risks" addresses something we all sense but may not fully understand: how our hyper-connected world can actually increase feelings of isolation and su***de risk. ๐๐
Molly will explore the neuroscience behind why online interactions affect us differently than face-to-face connections, how social media can amplify emotional distress, and why platforms often lack adequate safeguards around su***de-related content. ๐ง ๐ฒ
But it's not all doom and gloom - she's also passionate about the positive potential of digital resources like 988, crisis chat, and text lines when used safely and effectively. ๐โจ
In a world where everyone's connected but many feel alone, this session provides crucial insights for anyone who cares about digital mental health. ๐ค
