Yesterday, I posted on how positive self-talk and being your biggest cheerleader is essential in developing self-confidence. Some of you asked me what that looks like so I’m bringing this post back on the feed.

One way to support yourself is through self-validation. It is like being your own best friend, giving yourself the support and encouragement you need to thrive. When we validate ourselves, we recognize our worth and celebrate our achievements, which boosts our confidence and self-esteem. This positive reinforcement triggers the release of feel-good neurotransmitters in the brain, such as dopamine and serotonin, making us feel happier and more resilient.

It’s important to remember that while it’s nice to have validation from others, we don’t have to rely on it for our sense of self-worth. We can validate our decisions and experiences on our own, without depending on external approval. By doing so, we take control of our own narrative and build a solid foundation of confidence and security within ourselves.

What is a statement or affirmation you often use to validate yourself?

Take care of your mind and body. Love, Nawal ♥️

On showing ourselves love 🤍

Understanding our nervous system might just be one of the greatest gifts we can give ourselves. Learning when it’s in a protective mode of fight/flight/freeze and then listening, interpreting, understanding, and then finding ways to bring it back to connection with self will help in more ways than you consciously realise. Find your favourite tools, find your favourite people & as always reach out if you need more support 🌱

How are you showing your nervous system some love today? 🤍

Learning about our nervous system and how it has learned to respond is important at any age! It is also important to know that we can teach ourselves respond and cope better.

Post credit Somatic Experiencing® can help a child gain mastery over feelings and situations that are overwhelming by assisting them in identifying and expressing the sensations they are experiencing.

If you think a child is affected by trauma, there are some common reactions they will display. After a stressful event, parents or teachers may notice withdrawal, fearfulness, irritability, excessive shyness, clinging, emotional outbursts, aggression toward other children, hurting animals, or other forms of acting out.

When should you explore couples counseling?

We typically feel most confident in areas of our lives where we have support, and our relationships are no different. Research shows that couples who seek help early have the best chance of thriving even during difficult times. It can be be especially helpful to seek guidance for yourself and your loved one during big life events and transitions.

Working with a trained professional is an investment in your relationship and overall well-being. On the Gottman Relationship Blog, Terri A. Ammirati, LCPC (Ammirati Counseling) offers tips to help you seek support for your relationship: https://bit.ly/2Zv2UW5

Have you ever noticed yourself minimizing an experience even when you remember and maybe still feel the pain? Doing this keeps the pain from escaping our bodies which leads to many more issues.
Let it out! journal, draw, exercise, breathe, talk it out.
