800 mg of ni****ne = 40 packs of ci******es. That’s what’s inside just one Geek Bar.

Ni****ne at these levels can:
• Harm brain development in youth
• Increase blood pressure and heart rate
• Lead to addiction and mental health struggles
• Expose lungs to toxic chemicals and metals

And the long-term effects? Still largely unknown. Let’s not gamble with our health. Learn more and get support at QuitNowMontana.com

Let’s work together to stop childhood lead poisoning.

Lead exposure can happen in places you might not expect like older homes, peeling paint, contaminated soil, even certain toys or household items.

The good news? It’s completely preventable. As we continue raising awareness across our community, we want every parent and caregiver to know the signs, the risks and the steps to keep children safe.

“Childhood lead poisoning is preventable. Working together, we can bring awareness to new patients and families to stop lead exposure before it starts.”

When you bring a baby home, you may hear a lot of advice. Some advice is helpful, some outdated and some can be confusing. Family members, friends and even strangers may share what “worked for them,” and while these suggestions are usually well-intended, infant sleep safety is one area where following evidence-based guidance truly matters.

Chris Hunter, the WIC & Family Health Services Administrative Services and Outreach Coordinator at RiverStone Health and the Fetal, Infant, Child and Maternal Mortality (FICMMR) Coordinator for Yellowstone County, highlights simple steps to keeping your baby safest while they are asleep.

What counts as a retail food establishment? 🍽️

In Montana, a retail food establishment includes any place that provides food directly to consumers whether it’s a restaurant, grocery store, market, food truck, temporary setup or even a food bank. This applies whether food is eaten on-site, taken to-go, delivered or provided free of charge.

Under Montana’s Food Code, kratom cannot be sold in retail food establishments because it is not an approved food additive, dietary ingredient or medication.

RiverStone Health is enforcing existing state regulations to help ensure food safety across our community. Learn more and read the full FAQ at RiverStoneHealth.org/Kratom

Meet our newest Welcome Baby Community Health Worker: Shauna Keierleber of Young Families Early Head Start:

I have a great passion for serving our community. I started at Young Families Early Head Start in July, but have been involved for almost 28 years with all my children. I have worked in the social services field for 15 years working closely with families on obtaining services needed.

With Young Families Early Head Start, I feel like I am finally home. It is an honor to be part of someone else's journey, the success and failures, watching families find their path brings so much joy.
