A retail food establishment includes more than just restaurants. In Montana, this also applies to:

🚚 Food trucks
🛒 Markets
🎪 Temporary food setups
🤝 Convenience stores

If food or drink is provided directly to consumers, whether sold or free, Montana’s Food Code applies.

Since kratom is not an approved food ingredient, it cannot be sold in these settings. This is part of long-standing regulations in place since 2015 to protect public health.

💙 Volunteer Appreciation Month 💙

This April, we’re celebrating the many ways volunteers bring comfort and connection to those we serve.

Clayton and his trained therapy dog, Frannie, have been volunteering for about a year, visiting hospice patients and staff. Inspired by Clayton’s personal connection to hospice care, this duo brings moments of joy, calm, and companionship especially on difficult days.

Frannie, a certified therapy dog, has a special way of lifting spirits and creating meaningful connections. Together, they show exactly why we celebrate Volunteer Appreciation Month.

“Being able to bring comfort to patients, especially during challenging moments, is incredibly meaningful. Even small interactions can make a big difference.”
