These oral tips won’t just brighten your smile, but they’ll also keep the rest of you healthy! 🤯 Plus, orthodontic care works its best magic when your mouth feels and looks fresh.

This National Smile Month, give your teeth some self-care by doing these oral habits every day:

😁 Brush your teeth at least twice a day with fluoride toothpaste.

😁 Floss at least once a day to get debris your brush can’t reach.

😁 Clean your tongue with a tongue scraper to reduce bacteria.

Tag someone you think has a beautiful smile and show them some love this National Smile Month! 🫶

Plot twist: your teeth always spill the truth. 🫡

Rubber bands might seem small, but they’re doing serious behind-the-scenes work to correct your bite. If they’re not worn consistently, we can see it at your next appointment.

Skipping elastics doesn’t just slow things down. It can add extra time to treatment and make adjustments less comfortable than they need to be.

Be honest… what helps you remember to wear your bands between visits? Drop your best tip below 👇

It’s a color tie showdown! Will your favorite color win? 👀

Every visit, we see patients getting creative with their colors, and lately, these two colors have been everywhere. They’re the most-requested, most-repeated, we-see-them-almost-every-day kind of popular.

Help us crown a color winner by voting on this post!

Missing your orthodontic appointments may cost you more than you think… 🤔

We schedule your adjustment appointments so they fall at the right time to refresh or tighten your brackets and wires and ensure your aligner treatment plan is still on track. When you miss those check-ins, it can cause delays and potentially make treatment last longer than originally planned.

If you do miss an appointment, don’t worry! Here’s a couple of things to do if this happens:

🦷 Don’t just wait until your next appointment to see us

🦷 Call the office and reschedule ASAP to stay on track

🦷 Keep wearing your elastics or aligners as instructed in the meantime

Save this post to refer to the next time you miss an appointment and aren’t sure what to do. 😄

Do you know how Phase 1 treatment works… and who it’s for? 🤔

For children who need it, Phase 1 treatment is the first step in making sure that their smiles are developing healthily and function as they should. There are so many benefits of getting Phase 1 treatment, such as…

😄 Improved oral health by simplifying your oral hygiene

😄 Better jaw function

😄 Simplified treatment in teen or adult years

😄 Confident & balanced smiles

We use noninvasive methods such as space maintainers, palatal expanders, or partial braces to guide teeth and jaw development. The orthodontic appliances may require some adjusting or affect your children’s speech at first, but with patience and some speech practice, they’ll be used to them in no time.

Is discomfort with braces normal? 🤕

Yes, sometimes, your braces can cause tenderness as your teeth shift into their new positions.

This discomfort is temporary, and you can manage it by:

😁 Swishing with warm water and salt.

😁 Putting an ice pack on your mouth for 10-15 minutes.

😁 Using over-the-counter medication like ibuprofen or acetaminophen.

😁 Eating soft foods that are easy on your teeth and gums.

If you have persistent pain or if a bracket/wire starts to poke you, give our office a call at 406-655-9300. Save this post to refer back to the next time your braces are getting on your nerves. 🦷

The early days of braces are all about small wins.

New braces come with a lot of new sensations, new habits, and a little trial and error at first. 😅 The good news is that a few simple adjustments can make those early weeks feel much easier.

This cheat sheet breaks down how to keep teeth clean, reduce soreness, and stay comfortable during those first few weeks. Save this for convenient, simple reminders that can actually help. 😁

The kind of improvement that holds up long after the photo.

This treatment focused on creating a healthier bite while refining the look of his smile, so the result feels natural, balanced, and built to last. 😁 Changes like this support everyday comfort and function, with aesthetics that follow.

If you know someone who’s been thinking about orthodontic treatment but waiting for the right moment, share this with them. A consultation can be the first step toward a result like this. ✨
