Billings Friends and Community!
Our classroom does an annual community service project. We make No Sew Blankets and holiday cards with our 10 middle school special education students. Then I deliver them in the community on December 23rd.
We are looking for donations of fleece fabric or blanket kits to support our students in doing our project this year. If anyone has fleece fabric or blanket kits to donate we would be so grateful!
I can pick up donations or they can be dropped off at Castle Rock Middle School.

Please help our students feel good about themselves by giving back to the community. This project is dear to me especially when we donate the blankets to the Pediatric unit. I know far too well what it's like to be in the hospital for the holidays and a small gesture like this goes a long way. If you would like to make a donation, please let me know...

Guess who is back up standing after having his cast removed! If you need a dose of courage today, look into this boy's eyes. After foot surgery and 6 weeks in a cast, after a seizure relapse, he stands back up and does it with a smile on his face. These last few things set him back in his skills, but I have no doubt he will only go stronger from here. Our brave little boy!

This little guy rocked his foot surgery today. Due to regression in his clubfoot, he had to have a tendon transfer and a tenotomy procedure. 6 weeks in a cast, no weight bearing. I can't wait to see him past this recovery phase.

Few people know that we have been aware of an upcoming clinical trial for gene therapy for James's specific gene mutation. It felt hopeful, surreal. It felt scary too. Today all that hope came tumbling down...
The weight of the medical decisions that we have to make for James has been, by far, one of the heaviest loads we had to carry on this journey. Our hearts go out to the family who lost their child all while hoping for a cure.
Meanwhile, we are so grateful that James is ok, we are ok. We continue to celebrate James's uniqueness and are so grateful for having him in our lives. He brings us all so much light!
