The bill died yesterday. Shocking this is the 2nd year in a row.

Our bill was dead 15 minutes after I got to the Capitol.

After all of the hours we’ve spent working on this cause, it was dead, just like that.

And I think the most frustrating part of it all is that we KNOW we are right. And the legislators KNOW we are right. But that still wasn’t enough for them to have our backs.

When I drove home yesterday, I went straight to the pharmacy to meet a patient to fill something he needed and couldn’t get earlier because we had closed. His insurance paid me $0 and his copay was $2 less than the actual cost of the drug itself.

Business as usual, taking care of the health of Mississippians at a loss.

I wonder what that PBM charged his plan sponsor to cover that medication? My guess is a lot more than the $0 they paid me.

Our only hope now is for the Governor to call a special session and pray that we can work something out that truly helps pharmacies and patients. That’s our only shot.

It’s hard to believe that so much evil exists inside of a building as beautiful as this one…
