⭐ Meet the Team: Karishma ⭐

You’ve likely seen Karishma (aka Super K) around the office! She has worked as a medical assistant to our doctors for the last four years. Her favorite part of her job is helping kids face their fears (no tears over vaccines to be found here)!
Outside of work, you can find Karishma stealing the spotlight as a content creator, dancer and actor. 🎭

Small changes add up! 🙌 If you’re looking for ways to create healthy habits as a family in 2026, start with one of these easy additions! ⬇️

1️⃣Swap one drink a day for water!
2️⃣Encourage open communication about your feelings - this models good practices for your kids and encourages them to open up in turn.
3️⃣ Add a weekly walk to your routine! This can be an easy way to get in more activity while bonding together.
4️⃣Prioritize sleep – Consistent bedtimes help kids (and parents!) feel rested and ready.
5️⃣ Stay up to date on checkups & vaccines – Preventive care keeps the whole family healthy.
6️⃣Limit screen time – Encourage outdoor play, reading, and creative activities.

How will you strive for health in 2026? Let us know! 💬

❄️ Winter Car Seat Safety Tip ❄️

Did you know bulky coats and snowsuits should never go under your child’s car seat harness? They can compress in a crash, leaving the harness too loose to protect your little one.

Safe winter layering tips:
✅ Dress your child in thin, warm layers
✅ Hats and mittens help keep your little one warm
✅ Lay coats or blankets over the harness after buckling
✅ Give yourself extra time to commute to the destination — once there you’ll put on their coat before leaving the car!

Keep your kids warm and safe this winter! 🚗💙

Not sure if your child has a cold or the flu? 🤧 It can be tricky, but there are often some key differences:

➡️ Cold: Comes on gradually, mild fatigue, runny/stuffy nose, sneezing, mild cough, rarely a fever.

➡️ Flu (aka influenza): Hits suddenly, fever, body aches, cough, chills, and more fatigue. Kids may also vomit or have diarrhea.

💡 Tip: Rest, fluids, and monitoring are always important. Flu antiviral medications are sometimes indicated within the first 2 days of symptoms. Call your pediatrician with questions or concerns.*

Holiday Toy Safety Tips for Kids 🎁

The holidays bring lots of excitement—and lots of new toys! Keep playtime safe with a few simple reminders:

1️⃣ Check age recommendations: They’re there for a reason. Toys with small parts can be choking hazards for little ones.

2️⃣ Avoid small or loose pieces: If it fits through a toilet paper roll, it’s too small for kids under 3.

2️⃣ Look for secure batteries and consider avoiding toys with button batteries. Swallowed batteries are a medical emergency - go to the emergency room if you expect your child has swallowed a battery of any kind.

4️⃣ Always supervise young children while playing with new toys.*

A safe holiday is a happy holiday! We wish you joy and time together this holiday season. 😀
